news4's tracy -- chevy chase circle. news4's tracee wilkinsive with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. you can hear the humidity behind me. that's the work of the montgomery county fire department as they're trying to remove the bodies from that vehicle after this fiery crash. let me show you what it looked like earlier. this is what montgomery county police say happened. they're saying that just after 1:00 a.m., an officer noticed a vehicle in the neighborhood of dunlap and goodale roads and ran the tag and figured out that the vehicle was stolen. they began to pursue the vehicle. it escalated coming to chevy chase circle, it crashed, lost control, caught fire. the police were able to drag two people out of the vehicle. the driver and the passenger. the driver is critically injured. the passenger evidently has suffered less serious injuries and is cooperating with police. two folks in the back died as a result. chevy chase circle is closed as they continue the investigation. they're trying to quickly get it open in time for rush hour. in
