the hope is we will continue to engage our partners at the transbay jpa, mta, ntc, caltrain. on the federal front, there was a development. it was actually an amendment that was introduced into the house version of the surface transportation act. the amendment was introduced by a representative from elk grove. this amendment, if successful, would threaten court eliminate the $942 million, and it starts funding for the central subway. i do not know the people fully understand the magnitude of what is being proposed. we're working with the mayor's office here at the county transportation authority, with the federal transit administration, and our representatives in washington, d.c., to make sure this amendment is not successful, and that is something we all should watch. i know the central subway is a priority for not only the authority but for this entire board of supervisors. finally, a very important piece of good news. i think this builds upon the work that has been started between our executive director and the new director of transportation that the mta, ed reiskin. they

transbay is at the next level down. it is the start of its implementation.ell over 3000 housing units, over 35% of affordable. other public improvements. our agreements with the state and with the transbay joint powers authority provide for that to go to three purposes, the terminal, and affordable housing, and public improvement. we were at a groundbreaking, we expect that to continue into the future with the future increments as recognized by the state. that hunters point shipyard is at its inception. we received approval. another model of sustainability. infrastructure work is nearly complete on the first phase of the hilltop under way at the hunters point shipyard. and then candlestick point is part of this robust program. that would be developed in partnership, we have a partnership with the state to improve the state park area, rebuild the affordable housing development. as part of that development as well. the other obligations for this successor agency within the city administrator's office, we touched on the management of those assets and the former

high-speed rail and realize the vision of having the terminus in the transit center we are building at transbay. it follows a similar agreement was reached in southern california and those to bookends of the high-speed rail i think were hopeful in the passage -- helpful in the passage in approval of the revised business plan just last week. we have a very major stake in that upgrades to caltrain, the connections to fourth and king and the new connection of the transbay terminal are very important part of our overall transportation network in the city. we have been actively engaged in that process at the staff level, working with the city family and our regional partners and we see that as a great step forward. i wanted to alert you and that the public of some pretty significant work happening on the doral drive -- doyal drive to make way for its successor, the presidio parkway. the big work will start april 27 at 8:00 p.m. and go through until 5:00 a.m. the following monday, april 30. which will completely close that road. the golden gate bridge will be open during that time there will be regio

our transit system representing, to connect up eventually to what we have already started at the transbayminal so that all of our muni transit system can connect up to the wonderful world of high-speed rail. that will be in our lifetime. not just a wish. we are taking steps to make sure that is a reality. that is our future. we cannot risk the inability to have our transit system connected up to all of our areas. and then, to help muni establish the bus rapid transit systems along geary, venice, that will be done in a very short time, and we got some help because today we announced the rebuild of our hospitals, and they are contributing to the rapid transit systems. senator, with your leadership, for so many years, and your help and such wonderful leadership, i also want to acknowledge -- this transit system runs on hydroelectric power from our hetch hetchy dam, and we know that. we have felt that. we have used that. in addition to the wonderful water system it has, our our shaughnessy dan generates this power -- our shaughnessy dam. for anyone to suggest that we should tared that down an
