i am peter walker, the landscape architect. we are delighted to be here, because we have been working on the park for a long time now. finally, the other part of the other competition comments are coming up. it has been a while, but we are here. >> [inaudible] >> it is a long time to remember, but five years ago part of the presentation was the relationship between mission square and the park above. it was not so much that mission square was going to be a problem in terms of access and people would know about it obviously, but it is the connection between them, which we emphasized in the competition here than what we are bringing to you today is some of the ideas that we're working with on mission square, and i will try to show you how they relate to the park and making them one as much as possible. we're working with redwood trees. you have another plaza that uses redwood trees, but we're working with them in quite a different way from that one. that one is a little reckless and moving away from the busyness of the city. we ar

the park, designed by peter walker and partners, will feature a it children's playground, as well as art, culture, and education. the park will feature a water fountain designed by a ned con. the vision is to accommodate the people who live in the area, work in the area, and have it coming to san francisco as transit riders connecting to various parts of the bay area, and eventually in the state of california. today and a thomas is one of the most blighted areas of the transbay region of the area. yet in the not so decent -- distant future, it will be home to residents alike. will have wide sidewalks, retail coffee shops and other commercial activities similar to what we've seen at grand central terminal. mission plausible be shared by the transit power and the station. the current design is redwood trees, california's own st. -- owns a tree -- up to the canopy above. an exciting feature that has been proposed by the architect as a funicular for one of the ways to access the rooftop park. the mission plaza leading to the grand hall, a ground level of the new transit center. it is a v

peter what did you hear that stood out? discussion the about wisconsin is interesting though it felt he kept wanting to down play what the results there might mean. that shows it's a real possibility scott walker could prevail despite tens of millions of dollars being thrown at him by the unions and i think the conventional view is that if walk erwins that is a huge set for the labor movement. practically speaking their spending a lot of money there that they could be spending on race.resident >> he seems to down play what it would mean about the public opinion about labor unions. whether or not it would energy bodeen other politicians to take them on in other states he said it wouldn't but i think a lot of people believe it actually would. >> did you get a real sense of relevance of unions from the discussion. he made predictions and said if the healthcare law is over turned it could set things in motion. what does that say about the way that the predictions are being made about exlegislations and supreme court decisions? >> well their relevance is always the amount of money they can spend in an election year in getting someone elected. i thought he was vague in his discussion of their new ta
