regarding the geary brt steady, this was brought up at the last cac meeting and i suggested to the mta staff, i suggest all of you do your homework and look to see what actually happened between 1986 and 1987 when the geary transit task force looked at the light rail -- there were too light rail projects. they were grandfathered into proposition k. with the central subway business -- there is a spur at union square for geary, so i suggest you do your homework and look into the archives to see if the final report of the geary task force -- 1995 -- it has been over 20 years, but 1995 was the final report of the geary light rail project. also look into what the third street light rail project wants to do. there is the possibility for light rail because that is what the voters wanted. they did not want us rapid transit. they wanted light rail. do your homework before you do anything. thank you very much. i brought the same points up at the last cac meeting. suggest you do the same thing i told the mta staff to do. supervisor avalos: thank you very much. any other member of the public want

. $5 million toward the van ness and geary brt projects, and $10.5 million will be paid by cpmc to mta in lieu of the transit effective element feet, the tidf, which is not required by law of a nonprofit. in addition, cpmc will impose a parking surcharge of 50 cents off peak and 75 cents on peak for all entries and exits to the cathedral built garages. this will serve as an incentive to use the non-automobile modes of arriving at the hospital for those who can, and it will raise an estimated additional $500,000 per year or $5 million over the 10 years for mta service. last but not least, cpmc will provide a one-time payment of $400,000 to mta for planning for improved bicycle access around and between cpmc's campuses. moving to the related issue a pedestrian safety and streetscape improvements. around cathedral, the agreement is that cpmc will provide $9.35 million in cash to the city, which will then go ahead and make the improvements that you see on at this live here. the bulk of these, about $8 million, will go to the first three items on the list. pedestrian lighting in the tenderl

even the effectiveness project identifies geary to be brt. >> is there proposition here to try it as phase one and implement what they are recommending here as phase one? it could be. you do not like it. >> it would be difficult to add service to meet the frequency requirements of the demand in the corridor. if you do not give them the lane and give that travel time savings, the travel time savings from the full package is what we can use to recycle and give the buses more frequent service, at more frequent service on the corridor. >> i did not mean that you do not like it. that was the wrong way to phrase it. do you think it is not as simple as taking this and sank, let's just say this, it is more complicated than that? >> you do not get the level of travel time savings. the 30% we see on van ness that allows you to offer more frequent service to deal with the man. vice-president o'brien: maybe a couple of people here are very emotional about it. people will feel very strongly and say very strongly worded statements and others will stay very mild. it seems awfully disconnected right

when you are working on the construction for the brt to be worked in the center divide, you also have to remember the cpfc has to come between geary and post. i think it is very crucial. whoever is working with the brt all have to get together and coordinate there time lines -- their time lines. commissioner campos: thank you, ma'am. next speaker, please. >> good afternoon, supervisors. my name is jason henderson. but just want to reiterate from the plans a program meeting, we are enthusiastically in support of the central lane hybrid option. we voted unanimously to endorse this project in the spring. on the bus rapid transit citizens advisory committee, we worked to tweak the alternatives over the past five years. so, there is a lot of support for this project, and especially having the school bus way in the center of van ness. doing nothing means everyone will suffer. everyone will be in traffic. buses will be in traffic. motorists are going to be at a standoff. you will improve by five minutes at least in the corridor for transit experience in the next few months to go to the planning commission, and part of that social contrac
