governor scott has missed the deadline to do this purge. however, well intended he might have been, that deadline ended on may 16th. and federal law is what i will follow. >> and what about your fellow county election supervisors? are they going to listen to governor scott or to the federal government or to the law? what are they going to do? >> they are also going to follow the law. our general counsel issued a memorandum last friday which really received no national play at all. the memorandum said that we should not conduct the purge. and i have been in contact with supervisors all around the state of florida. it's clear an overwhelming majority of them are simply not going to violate this federal law despite what the governor says. and quite frankly, i don't actually think the governor actually contends -- intends to carry out a purge to be honest with you. i think this is something that he made as a promise to hez tea party banks. he was elected in 2010 and quite frankly, he has sent out notices to the tea party base that there are the
