roz plater joins us live from the campus in charlottesville. >> the closed door meeting of the board of visitors has been going on for more than three hours now. the crowds are standing by to see a pair demand will be met. u.va. students faculty, and alumni want their voices heard. it came to protest the ouster of president teresa sullivan. >> this has been tumultuous for everyone here. everyone wants to cry everyone is confused, many are angry. >> many of us are hoping that the board of visitors will reverse its position, especially seeing the overwhelming support for teresa sullivan and the total disapproval and shot at the way this took place. >> the head of the board of visitors apologized for not being more open but that they had worked with sullivan to meet fund-raising goals. >> i want to make it clear that we followed a regular communications process with the president involved in ongoing discussions for an extended period of time. our process toward mutually agreed upon goals is important to the future of this school. >> this controversy has put the school in a national spot

us know. >>> there could be a contentious meeting today in charlottesville between the university of virginia board of visitors and the leaders from the school's faculty senate. they plan to meet and discuss the decision to fire the school's president. they met to discuss teresa sullivan's firing just two years into her term. the passed resolution had a vote of no confidence. some are furious. no explanation of why she was let go except to say there was philosophical differences. >> i do not understand this action. there's anger that there's a lack of communication. >> i feel like the way she was removed wasn't in the spirit of what mr. jefferson wanted for this university. >> it's more than just the faculty angry over the firing. top donors are threatening to stop contributing to this school because of this move. >>> closer to our area loud den county board of supervisors will meet to discuss financing for phase two of the dulles rail project. a little more than two weeks before the deadline for deciding whether to approve extending metro into the county. some residents oppose it fearing the project would mean higher protects and
