fox 5's bob barnard has the latest tonight. >> reporter: we learned the officer riding in the passenger seat has been treated and released from prince george's hospital tonight. that is the good news. the sad news is his partner who was driving was killed today. we have a photo of this officer just identified within the last half hour as 23-year-old adrian morris. he is just two years on the force. he was born in jamaica, raised in laurel. we are told he became a u.s. citizen in 2009, was a 2007 graduate of eleanor roosevelt high school. he was killed in this accident today. we have a second photo from prince george's county police tonight and this is one of the two suspects in this case, one of two men seen driving a gray acura with temporary tags. this photo was taken at a shell gas station in laurel as according to police this man and a man he was with tried to steal another car at that gas station. that happened on sandy spring road, route 198 in laurel around 11:50 this morning, again police saying this man caused the accident that killed officer morris. they stood at attention, so

fox 5 bob barnard is downstairs with details. >> police say the teen was using fake names and bogus phone numbers ordering pizzas online to vacant apartments near his montgomery village home to feed a late night hunger for money and food. it was open season on pizza deliverymen, those working for domino's and papa john's serving montgomery village the primary targets. >> he had a big gun. >> reporter: carlos demorris says drivers for this store were robbed twice including one of his good friends. >> he went there and this guy had a gun put him on his knee, pointed the gun at his head and just took all the money and the food. >> reporter: the teenager arrested in this case lived here on mills choice road in montgomery village. montgomery county police tell us the 17-year-old was ordering pizzas to his neighbor's addresses, they be leaving his home through a bed -- then leaving his home through a bedroom window, hiding behind bushes, then ambushing the unsuspecting drivers. >> most of the robberies happened at night. so it was the end of the shift and we were really scared obviously. >> rep

lobbying firm and the police spent the day in a virginia neighborhood looking for evidence, fox 5's bob barnard with the latest. >> that's where the suspect's family lives in herndon. investigators also found the accused gunman's car parked at the east falls church metro station. it's been impounded. late tonight the fbi announced it's charged the shooting suspect floyd corkins with assault with a deadly weapon. for a good chunk of the day the corner of eighth and g streets in the district's chinatown was on virtual lockdown as d.c. police and the fbi investigated a shooting inside the lobby of the family research council's headquarters. it happened around 10:45 this morning, police telling us an armed manmade negative comments about the organization's work. it opposes gay marriage and abortion rights before opening fire on the security guard. he has been identified as leo johnson. this is a photo of him taken to the hospital. johnson was shot in the arm yet helped others tackle the shooter. >> i would say the security guard is a hero as far as i'm concerned. he did not allow the armed person p

. >> david barnard, chief meteorologist of our miami station is with us this morning. david, where is isaac heading, and how dangerous could the storm be? >>> here is the latest information on tropical storm isaac. this is the update for our west coast viewers and it's continuing to move through the gulf of mexico. it's a strong tropical storm, the heavy rain bands continue to move over a large part of the florida peninsula and even some of them heading to the florida panhandle. the high sustained winds right now are currently at 65 miles per hour. this puts it at about 400 miles south of new orleans, louisiana, moving to the west/northwest at 14 miles an hour. the current thinking is this could be a category 1 hurricane by the time it reaches southeast louisiana or the mississippi gulf coast tuesday night and early wednesday morning. the forecast now calling for a category 1 hurricane and the highest chance of a significant wind impact, these are winds that can cause damage, is in sou southeast louisiana around new orleans and then continue east over to the biloxi are

bob barnard with the details. what do you know? >> the alert is for a 1-year- old boy apparently taken by his biological father yesterday last seen near the family's home on nemitz road in district heights. the boy is cesar steven martinez, his father julio ariaza. cesar is 1-year-old with brown hair and brown eyes. it's not known what clothes he was wearing. the father is about 5' father and weighs roughly 150 pounds, also has brown hair and brown eyes. julio and the mother were reportedly having a custody dispute. the amber alert for cesar issued only about an hour ago. father and son are said to be traveling in a green 2006 chevy equinox suv with maryland tag 7ag6950. again father and son were last seen in the vicinity of nemitz road in district heights yesterday. if you think you've seen the two or the suv, you're asked to please give 911 a call. >>> now to a developing story in ellicott city, maryland, right now federal investigators are sifting through wreckage and debris following a massive early morning freight train derail

bob barnard is there as well and is here to tell us what happened. bob? >> reporter: the accused gunman, floyd lee corkins, stood before a federal judge this afternoon and, when asked, said he was not guilty of the charges but was ordered held in jail until his next court date, now scheduled for october. his attorney said that floyd lee corkins has been found competent to stand trial. this was the 28-year-old herndon man as he was being arrested nine days ago. corkins is charged in the shooting at the family research council's chinatown headquarters august 15th. the fbi said that he had a .9- millimeter handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition and 15 chick fillet averages in the fire. the frcs building supervisor, leo johnson, who serves as a security guard, was shot in the arm during a confrontation in much a witness said that corkins allegedly said he doesn't like the christian conservative group's policies. the frc opposes abortion rights and gay marriage. executive his expressed support for the head of the chick filet operation who game under fire for his voc
