eastbound on fulton, another taxicabs was dropping off passengers for outside lands and there was a dptcer riding down the license plate as if he was going to offer -- issue a ticket. the taxi driver was oblivious to the fact he was being issued a ticket. çói wish this would stop. it was not a police officer who was issuing the ticket. my assumption is that it was not a moving violation. the cab driver was being cited simply for dropping off on fulton street to outside lands. my request is that when it comes to things like this is especially for the big events where they do need public transit service that there would be better coordination between bus service, dpt, and taxicabs. i asked if we could start thinking about other things besides medallions and maybe some of the things we think about is when it comes to event planning and how to service these large events that we can include the taxicab industry representatives including drivers to help coordinate the sorts of things and please stop punishing cabdrivers just because they're providing transit services. thank you. >> next speak

we have heard this routinely from dpt and police officers. taking away people's vehicles. we are not taking away people's vehicles, but a measure for the mta to regulate parking, to indicate in some areas that you wouldn't be able to park -"d" overnight. one person talked about having a piece of legislation that is enforceable and this is one that i think is on forcible. enforceable. this is one that is actually quite easy to enforce and it's something that we would be able to move forward. somebody talks about designation areas for larger vehicles and i absolutely understand that and that is precisely the reason why we did not say this was a ban outright on the entire city of all spaces. this is simply allowing the mta to choose certain locations that have had chronic problems to enforce an oversized vehicle issue. we're not saying citywide this would be a restriction on oversized vehicle parking. so i think that is a very measured approach and we purposely did that because we could anticipate some concerns that folks had. so those with visitors from out of town and know
