so that's the grab bar issue. with respect to the phone jack issue, he essentially the legislation before you is codifying the legislation. the cheapest cell phone for them to be would be 30 to 50 dollars a month, and that is not affordable for most people who call a physician, et cetera. if they get the life line situation and they go through that process with a land line it's anywhere between maybe 10 to 15 dollars a month and i'm sure josh and others when they get up here, they'll be able to talk about that. that's why the phone jack legislation is in the ordinance codifying state law. how do we implement that? the way that will be implemented, because the phone jack could be there, we don't know if it's live until the occupant of that unit has gotten a contract with a vendor for service. in that case if they call dbi and say i don't have a working phone jack, we're going to come out and look at it and if it's not working or not there, we will issue a notice of violation. with respect to the bathrooms, 6 months

i am here in support of grab bar and phone jack. i have phone jack in my bedroom even though i live in one of the crappiest hotels in san francisco, the mission hotel. of 151 respondents, about 72 of them surveyed did not have grab bars in their common toilet and bathing facilities. i think from safety standpoint, safety can be improved for seniors by installing grab bars by toilets and showers. the cost of installation, it is my understanding is probably lower than the permit itself so it will have a huge impact on safety for many seniors and people with disabilities. therefore, i support this legislation. i was discussing with josh about prop n, care not crush amendment. there are a lot of falls -- faults on that ordinance. there should be more accountability to case management. costs go to the owners of the hotels but if we make an amendment on prop n i think services for the tenants will be better, especially when the landlord is not linked to organize it or organizations because there is a conflict when the tenant has a problem

so here is the bar in the back of the truck and here is the workman removing the bar underneath the door to make it handicapped accessible. this was done after i filed the appeal. it wasn't done by the teem they had the permit approved. so the gate was not made handicapped accessible. now i have found that when the gate is closed after 6:00 p.m., it is unstable. so if i open the door it's not as easy of an opening as it used to be and if i open the gate, it actually falls to the ground, because now that that bar is gone, the structural stability of the gate is gone. it's hanging from the top hinge, not both hinges, the top and bottom, so the gate actually falls and hits the ground on the center. i have a video of that, if you would like me to show it. the other thing, too, if i open the gate and the door is otherwise the door also shifts. the door on the gate can't close either. let me pull those. so here is the gate open. and it's stuck on the ground here, and then this doesn't close properly either. you can see it also better here. and here, this is after i have opened the gate and i'm
