anderson? >> erin, we spoke to the mcdonnell family, lynn and chris mcdonnell who lost their little girl gracetually contacted us the other day and asked us to come by their home and spend time with them and learn about grace. and they wanted everybody else to know about the remarkable little girl that they have lost. and the little girl who has change third lives forever and that they will always hold in their hearts and will always remember. i sat down with them. we're going to be playing you a lot that interview tonight because we want you to know each and every one of the people whose lives were lost here and what it means to each family and to this community. grace was a really talented artist. she was only 7 years old, but she was really a gifted artist. she loved to draw and paint. you'll see some of that artwork. that was an owl that she drew, and they actually gave that to president obama. we're going to talk to lynn. she has a 12-year-old brother jack obviously who we did not interview because that's not appropriate. they want everyone to know about their amazing grace. so we're goin

not just from grief here, but from the way chris and lynn mcdonell are moving forward, moving forward, not moving on, moving forward. they sat down with andersonr. >> what do you want people to know about grace? >> well, grace had such a great spirit. she was a kind and gentle soul. and she was just the light and love of our family. she was just truly a special, special little girl that we loved and she loved her brother so much. and she loved her school, sandy hook. in fact, this week i was telling somebody she had a stomach ache one day and i said to her, why don't you stay home with mom and she said, no way, i have too much fun there and i don't want to miss anything. she would skip to get on the bus. it wasn't even a, you know, every morning it was the backpack was packed the night before and ready to get on the bus in the morning and head off to school. we would blow kisses every morning to each other and i remember that morning, putting her on the bus, she had a habit of blowing kisses, but then give me a big little liver lip, like, but then she -- i knew she was so happy to go off and get there. so it -- i'd like to say that she was at

anderson cooper is helping us cover this horrendous story. huh a chance to speak with parents of one of the victims? >> lynn and chris out after watching the broadcast and wanted to talk about their daughter, grace, one of the children killed. 16 kids in her class and 15 survived. grace did not. they are incredibly strong and they have a son named jack who is 12. we did not interview him. they wanted people to know about grace. we will be playing a lot of that tonight on 360 and that's how we will lead off the broadcast. they want people to remember her as they remember her. how she lived her life. theling that lynn and chris talked to me about is how they don't want their son hating anybody involved in this shooting. how it's okay to be angry, but they don't want him to feel hate. i talked to lynn about that earlier. >> i had said that to jack that it's okay to be angry because sure, we have anger and we are upset and we don't know why, but i told jack that he could never live with hate. grace didn't have an ounce of hate in her. we have to live through grace and realize that hate is not how our family is. certainly
