an elf that talks to santa. got one, jon? jon: i do have an elf.: she is the coauthor of elf on the shelf. story behind this. wrote it with her mother. co-ceo of creative activities and books. i have to start off with the hard-hitting stuff first. what is your relationship like with santa clause? >> i'm one of the most blessed individuals in the world because it is my job to work for santa claus and help families adopt elves. my mom, my sister and i work really hard to make sure elves get very good homes for santa claus. jenna: tell us about your story and how you are able to develop such a good relationship with mr. claus? >> we are close personal friends. when i was growing up santa claus used to send an elf to my home. as a little girl i remember talking to the elf and what i wanted for christmas. when i grew up and had children of my only wanted an elf that came from santa claus. my mom and i got permission from santa to write a story about elf tradition. the elf used to visit us. we set out on the journany to write the story and share it with
