students and schools have suffered needlessly in many ways. first students often receive improper substitutes. and substitutes occasionally unknowing accepted 6-12 assignments. a substitute was attacked with a chair with in a classroom that she believed to be younger schools. she never accepts middle school assignments. this created a truly untangible situation. yesterday grade level information started to appear in the system for the first time this year. i have not heard it mentioned on the phone-based system yet, but this is a good sign. this is a long four months appealing to the district quite frankly for sanity to be restored. as for every other year, the same problem will happen this summer unless changes are made to the software. i am informed that all grade levels get a raise. and i am sure that computer software can be purchased to prevent this. it's critally -- critically important that the needless harm is prevented. nothing will change unless this problem is tackled immediately. for our students and staff, a lose situation needs to be a

students. the requirements for this award. first the teacher has to teach in difficult situations. low-performing schools. and secondly they must be nominated by a former student that enrolled or graduated from a four-year university. each year i get well over 100 nominations that come from all over california. and talk to literally over the last several years thousand of students about what makes a good teacher. we have refined a lot of information down to about 19 common characteristics of effective teachers. when a nomination comes in from one student, i go out and try to find at least six other students that span the career of that teacher. i do have to become a detective. and i ask questions of the student, and why this teacher was so great. and why this teacher affected their lives through college. last year we had a student who had graduated 25 years before. when a teacher has an effect 25 years following graduation. you know there is something very, very special about that teacher. once i finish the interviews of the students. i go to the colleague and talk to them. and i in

i'm pleased to be here today, the first qualified student project in san francisco. i've been involved in berkeley and have built 5 hundred units plus in berkeley. the project in the upper left-hand side of the scene was from a downtown project since world war ii. in 2007 i sold the portfolio of the buildings and decided to develop housing and specifically student housing in san francisco. i did quite a bit of research about the market in san francisco and with the help of the san francisco housing action coalition was able to learn that there about 65 thousand full-time students in san francisco of which only 11 thousand have sponsors in student housing and that leaves 56 thousand student that don't have the principle. the project at 1321 mission will have a hundred and 60 units of which 120 a micro parents and other suits they can accommodate up to 5 hundred students. we have been working on small unit design in the last 5 years and we've adopted the design method loosen of the gold i didn't locks and the 3 bears. we have built larger units which were too big. and
