paul, pleasure to have you on the show today. we look forward to have you back, sir. >> thank you. jon: now, a fox news weather alert.eadly winter storm that left widespread damage in the midwest and. it has its sights set on the east coast. it is a massive storm. it has lost some strength but it is far from spent. meteorologist janice dean live in the fox weather center. jd, what's happening? >> we're still seeing inches of snow and inches of rain from this storm system. as you can see we have winter weather advisories up for the midwest, great lakes, ohio river valley, across the appalachians. we also have winter weather advisories for new england because our next storm system will take place over the next 12 to 24 hours. as the cold front stalls out we'll see the potential for several inches of rain. flood advisories are up for all the states in green, mississippi, alabama, georgia, up through carolinas. some moisture will go offshore and become a nor'easter, but how much snow and how much rain is still up for grabs here. we think south of boston it will be a winery mix, a rain event too warm for snow. but north a

paul, have you ever been frisked in the store? >> i never have. i had a gun stuck in my back once. >> is this something that people have no idea what's going jon. >>e getting more sensitive to it as it happens in new york city. there's a big issue to their policies as they relate to stopping and frisking. stores don't want to be shoplifted with. but you have to make sure and identity and have some reasonable basis to do it, just not look at the color of someone's skin and say, you know what, i'm going to pat/frisk you. in the future, it makes it better, but it's more unfortunate that incidents like this go on. >> this is a major issue in new york city. there's a class action lawsuit pending in federal court. people in the african-american/hispanic community say that cops are abusing them repeatedly. this is a big issue. of course, now, the police were not involved in this incident, but it sheds light on it and i think it sheds light on

jon. i used to tell, i still do tell visitors to rome who come during the summertime, don't go and wait and see the pope, john paul ii or pope benedict the xvi here in the vatican. go out to castle gandolfo. you'll be able to be in a very intimate setting. we'll see this little castle in the hills outside of rome with room for about 3 or 400 people in this inner square instead of 150,000 people here in st. peters square. and they will look up at this window and pope benedict the xvi for the last time will speak to the world. then he will go in, the guards will leave and he at 8:00pm will no longer be pope. jenna: as father jonathan was just speaking there our guests on set steven white nodding along. steven as father jonathan was taking a little bit about castle gandolfo that seemed to very much resonate with you about the community that is going to be surrounding the pope and what one can learn from the catholic church from this one area of the world. >> it's interesting, you know, i think it was yesterday and the day before talking about the crowds that were coming to see him and the out pouring of love and the

jon: such an interesting thing as we point out time and time again, hasn't happened in 600 years or so. i've read where even the private secretary to pope john pauli is criticizing this pope or critical of the decision at least to decide to step down before death. >> reporter: i read that as well, and since then that secretary, the private secretary has sent out context on that and said he didn't mean to be critical cat all. in essence what he was saying was, you carry the cross until the very end. but pope benedict the xvi says i know what my duties are, i know what i have to do for the people of the church, i've got even so old, i'm so frail and my mind is that i don't feel like i can do it any more. so he says nor the goo for the gaffe the church i havchurch i haven't step down. the last time it happened in 1415 edward the xii was dealing with multiple people trying to be the pope and times were very difficult, because the church was the law at the time almost exclusively. times are quite different. this pope said look i think this is the right thing to do and now the cardinals will come in and choose another. there is a great deal of anticipa

jon, that the democrats want to go at right now in terms of producing the added revenue. but what you're hearing from speaker boehner and the republicans including budget committee chair paul ryan is, they don't want to engage in any added revenue or any added tax hikes. the way they look the eight, they have already passed budget cuts in a budget plan that has not been dealt with by the senate. so they feel look, this is about spending, sequestration is about spending cuts, so let's look at spending. why are we looking attackss?. jon: well, meantime the congressional budget office is telling us in that new report that borrowing is going to hit 77% of our gdp by the end of this decade, in seven years, unless somebody does something. is anybody in washington, is the president disturbed by that? are the senate democrats he is meeting with? >> yeah, i think everybody is wear of it. now the question, you used an interesting word, disturbed. if you talk to the democrats, the democrats are more like, let's stablize this. this has doubled t went from 35% to about 70% over the course of the last decade with the spending on wars. we had unfunded new entitlements like prescription d
