in the country and the top three our la guardia, philadelphia and jfk and here we have not only underutilize airport in western pennsylvania that could serve as a hub, and i would ask the parties to consider that as you do your planning. moreover we have a recent drilling announcement that greater pittsburgh airport that will be a benefit or maybe a benefit to airlines to consider that so i ask you to consider that. you testified a little bit about some of the small and middle sized communities. i have some of those in my district. i am wondering if either of you might opine on expansion to the underserved communities that might result from this merger. >> if i could, we haven't done any of that planning yet and we won't be able to do any of that planning until we close the merger but one of the great opportunities in this merger is the complementary nature of the network. i mentioned in my opening remarks there are some 130 cities that american airlines serve that u.s. airways doesn't serve, 62 cities u.s. there raise fares that american airlines doesn't serve. when we make decisions about

but we're tending to overlook one of the most underutilized resources in health care which is patients and families themselves as partners in the transformation process. so we've seen examples of this across the country where practices have had a pain point where it's limited time in the offices because i've got to do all this documentation or whether it is, you know, the after-visit summary doesn't make sense to us or to you. come, sit down, have lunch, let's fix it together. and we've seen this idea of partnership producing benefits that are both incredibly meaningful and impactful, but also they happen on a timeline that is much faster than they otherwise would have. so as we're going through this transformation, as we're waiting and watching these ability markets evolve, those are -- b this is the time when partnering directly with patients and families as resources to problem solve is critical. we've seen it happen where the clinician will say, okay, we only have, like, 7, 12 minutes in the office visit, so what i'd like for you to do ahead of time is log on to the portal. create

we have 14,000 vacant and underutilized properties. we spend money for a cowboy poetry festival and a million dollars for taste testing foods to be served on mars. i don't know about you, but i think that some of these are a little less important than keeping our air control system intact and safe, and it seems like common sense to me that we ought to give the president the discretion to reduce the spending on the less vital things and continue to fund the important things. but we don't have to only go after wasteful spending. we have an unbelievable number of redundancies in duplicate programs. just a few examples. we have 80 different economic development programs spread across the federal government. we have 94 different programs to encourage the construction of green buildings. we have 47 different job training programs. doesn't it make sense that if we're going to have some savings, we look to those programs that aren't working so well. it can't be that every program is equal. i guarantee you some of them are not working so well.
