now, ellis was a husband and father of two young boys. who knew him are trying to make sense of what happened. take a listen. >> when you know a guy like jason, who is just a great man, and a wonderful guy, you just don't expect this to happen. he was a courteous kid awhen he was a teenager. a lot of times teenagers go do their own thing, but jason stayed just as respectful as he always was when he was a kid. he wanted to make a difference in people's lives and so he had a passion and always wanted to be a police officer. there is three characteristics that come to mind about jason. his integrity, his honesty, and his respect. >> so alina, the first question is, target versus stranger. was this officer an intended target? do we know? what do we think? >> authorities that the point believe this was a planned attack. pilot bu but they're not sure if he was targeted or if the shooter was going to shoot at whoever stopped to clear that debris from the road. >> considering the possibility of a stranger, you would think authorities would say be

for more, let's bring in lincoln ellis, chief investment officer of the stroo teejic investment groupt's look at the macro picture for gold. is this bubble blown once and for all? >> it's certainly into bear market territory. gld has been significant holding the miners has been twice the pain, so, the bloom is definitely off the rose in the gold market and the gold miners are feeling it, too. >> and for how long, i mean, to what degree do we want to play this, maybe even just for short-term? >> look, i mean, it's a bit of a complicated trade. the gold miners are not just gold miners, they mine other things, too, silver and a lot of the base metals. that started the first bit of that leg down. this second piece, this capitulation piece, which has really driven that divergence, relative to the gold price, is now firmlyç in place. 20% deviation this year. and things are starting to look cheap. when that cheapness comes in, you can begin to see activity among the miners, some consolidation, that would be use. . maybe cutting off supply. >> it's all relative to valuation, as you say. i lo

we have seen an increase in the last six months in ellis act evictions because of the hot real estate market. we need to do something to stop real estate speculation and these sets of amendments goes a long way to doing that. you know, when the tic owners came before us and said, hey we want amendments to the condo law so that we can get out from under this bad tic argument, we said, okay, we will give you that, and when they said don't worry we will have and we will keep our tenants and a lifetime lease the one thing that we want is the sus expensing of the lottery to stop the real estate speculation and other reforms in the condo law to take the large unit buildings out of conversion is what we have asked for in return and this compromise is exactly that. it is something that where the tell ants get something and the tic owners get something. you know who don't get anything? the evicters, the large property owners and the people that can afford to have two buildings like the women in the front row and they don't get anything out of it and they should not. thank you. next speaker. >>
