i'm julie mainer in tonight for gosia. >> we're following a developing story in oakland where police are searching for a missing 21- month-old girl. news chopper 2 around regional shoreline this afternoon. paul chambers is there with the turn this case took today involving her father. paul -- >> reporter: frank, police say at there this time the father is not a suspect in this case. he's behind bars on another charge. it's been 23030 hours since she was reported missing. police have searched the shoreline and other areas throughout oakland. officers went door to door where the little girl and her father lived. investigators are looking for clues to help them find the missing girl. >> every area, yard, building, surveillance footage we would be able to obtain, our investigators would have access to that. >> reporter: john web said he went in the grocery store to by an energy drink. moments later he said his daughter was missing from his suv. he left web in the vehicle with his mother who police say isn't well enough to watch her. for that reason, web was arrested and still in custody

i'm julie mainer. >> i'm frank summerville. we begin with developing news out of oakland.e spent the day looking for a 1-year-old girl missing now more than 24 hours. investigators spread throughout the city looking for a sign of the young girl. this is video into the ktvu newsroom of the sheriff's boat with a dog returning after looking in the martin luther king. >> we want to show you the the picture of daphne reported missing at 11:00 yesterday morning in east oakland. paul chambers has been following this story all day. >> paul joins us live now from oakland with the latest. paul has exclusive video of the girl's father taken minutes before he was reported missing. >> reporter: frank, julie, there's an active amber aalready. today police handed out 200 fliers. tonight they'll launch the chopper and search the shoreline behind me as the search for daphne continues. >> exclusive video shows 49- year-old john web in line at the grocery store it watching to buy an energy drink. moments later he left the store and said his daughter was missing from the suv.
