we spent the day there talking to some of those folks, including a house and wife, david doherty, andda. their story, unfortunately, is not all that uncommon in this area. they had to leave their home three years ago during those terribly angry wildfires that charred up much of the communities around boulder. they were only back in their home, believe this or not, several weeks ago before the weather took a turn on them. we asked them how they could possibly feel about that. >> sad. >> like a ping-pong ball. sad, yes. it's really tough. it has been tough for the original fire. it's been really tough during the three years, but going home gave us a whole bunch of home. we were home for two weeks, we were unloading boxes, getting familiar again with living in the mountains. we were pretty happy. and then the rain started. >> well, everyone, as you would expect, they're quite tired and very emotional. but they're glad to see fema is here, the red cross is here there are people who can help do case work with them. >> you can't really say enough about what those shelters mean for the resid
