meetings, briefings, phone calls, deirdre walsh was reporting last night on two calls the white house had with house democrats. today i have to tell you it feels like that full boil has moved to a simmer. what's happening is that the white house seems to be reaching out more one on one to individual members. that tells you a lot. they need votes one by one. they're not getting them in large groups even though leaders like nancy pelosi and speaker boehner have come out in favor of the president's plan. many of the members are not following suit yet. >> we have 435 house members. in total with the senate, that number is 535. i am so curious as to whether they're, a, going to be able to reach all of them and, b, if all of them are reading their research because, you know, there's been a break. and i don't know how much work is done on break. is that a concern to the members? >> reporter: yeah. many are not in town yet. and miegz amyself and one of ou colleagues have been trying to reach all of them one by one. you see my finger is almost bruised from making phone calls. many are not here
