greg hicks says, that's right. she says, did you fight that?says, i was in the process of trying to frame a third request but it was not allowed to go forward. lars, is it the same or different? >> it's different. here's why. in august of that year, 2001, the nsa, then secretary rice -- not secretary rice, but dr. rice, said there is some kind of threat coming from al qaeda that might involve airplanes somewhere, sometime. that was very nonspecific. this was a specific threat message from our own people on the ground who said, we have inadequate security. we have security locally hired that has promised to run away if attacked. which is exactly what they did that night. >> right. >> there's a difference between a specific security threat that could have been answered with additional resources and a nonspecific threat like august of 2011. >> will hillary clinton have to answer this question successfully to be able to run for president. >> she has to address this issue. it permeates the public consciousness about her. let's not forget, this is no

senator, it's interesting, in that particular report on "60 minutes" last night, greg hicks, who wasf making his third request for additional security. but nothing ever happened with that. what can you tell us about that? >> i know that greg had a very specific request for security upgrades in tripoli, not benghazi, because of a well-known terrorist in the area and his request was spiked. not allowed to go up to washington. there had been four to five additional security requests for benghazi in tripoli that were denied by personnel in washington, d.c but we need to know why his request was never allowed to go to washington and we need to know the person who said he couldn't send it. that's classified. it shouldn't be classified. much of the information about benghazi is classified. i think for political reasons more than anything else. >> sure. also last night we learned that three months before an official had told ambassador stevens, one of the guys on the ground, you're going to be attacked. somebody else said -- there is the ambassador who died, our first ambassador killed overs
