elkton, 79 westminster, 77 is the manic number from bel air, down to columbia over to annapolis and kent island. we're seeing a northeast wind towards dc. the flow is coming primarily from the south and that's helping bring our temperatures up. this is now tropical storm karen. that's going to be moving into the region. it's going to interact with this entire system, a warm front and a cold front that follows. that gets here by the beginning of next week. the cold front helps to bring that moisture up into the area. this is the cone of uncertainty here. it just gives you a range of the motion and the area that this storm could actually cover. it will be likely the remanence of this storm by the time it moves into our direction. it will not be a tropical storm. all the models have it coming in this direction but it's going to be rain. warm temperatures are going to lead the way. here's the front that's going to come through and touch off the chance of a shower tomorrow afternoon. nothing too major. it could maybe just bring some showers across the region for your friday afternoon just briefly. 6

here's kent island. it is really warm. this 73 should be normally our daytime high for this time of the year and that's our 11:00 temperature. we hit 86 degrees today. we should be at 70. that's 16 degrees above average. the record high tomorrow 96 set back in 1941. 11:00 observations, 73 degrees. the warmest spot in the city around mt. vernon, 77 degrees. 70s outside the beltway. it will be a struggle to get down into the mid-60s for our overnight lows. southeasterly wind between 5- 10. at times a few coming in around 22. bringing a tremendous amount of moisture. this is wild for this time of the year. 68-70 dew point. with moisture in play, tonight we are going to anticipate storms for tomorrow. not the deal for the overnight hours. maryland's most powerful is clear overhead. 14-hour drive out to the west. you notice a broken line of showers and storms. these are severe storms out in ohio. as this marchs into the warm, unstable air, we anticipate some of these storms may be testing severe weather limits. a tremendous amo

locally, anywhere from 41 in west minister, bel-air, columbia, to 50 in annapolis and kent island. winds on the calm side and light side in most cases and that in conjunction with clear skies is going to allow for what we call radiational cooling. it will allow the temperatures to really drop as we head into the overnight. not only does it mean a cool night, but a cool start to the day. you want to grab a jacket as you head out the door. the big picture on satellite and radar, that's this area of clear, dry air. associated with a cold front that will drop down and move through but not until tomorrow night. we'll see high pressure continue to stay in control of our forecast throughout the day tomorrow. we'll have a chilly start but a nice finish. temperatures will top out into the low and mid-60s as the day goes on for your monday. we will turn very seasonable for this time of year. moving through as we head through tuesday, high pressure will build back in through that cold front. a little cloud cover later on in the day. high pressure building in, bringing us plenty of sunshine in

down by the bay a little warmer. 63 on kent island. 49 the normals and the records, what range here. 1996 in 1941 and 2001, 35 degrees. and the airport has .84 of an inch of rain. northwest winds in the area bringing this drier and cooler air mass in. at least for the time being. it's going to be a cooler week than we've seen in the last week or so. down across the southeast, the front's moving offshore. however it's going to start a little bit in the atlantic ocean, moisture developing somewhere over east of florida in the next 24 hours. could develop an area of low pressure along that front and it may bring us, may, not 100% chance, but may bring us more clouds and some more rain here late wednesday, thursday, friday and saturday, it may just hang up along the coast. the front will slow down. that's the problem. here's the front and it really doesn't go anywhere. that low pressure indicated by the models offshore bringing rain, maybe just west of the baltimore area. that could last with the northeast winds may not get out of the 50s to low 60s by the middle or end of the week. nort

and kent island at 56 degrees and aberdeen, 54 degrees this morning. and emmittsburg, the temperature is at 52. so we're seasonably cool. we should be around 49, 48, a little bit above that. but more importantly, the rain that we are getting in here as we are going throughout the day, abc's most accurate future trend and see the time line. when is it affecting you? well, as we go through about 5:00, 6:00, we can see it in the picture here, and this shield, this rain shield is a pretty big rain shield. i showed you on the radar, you can see it in portions of virginia as of now. but the low itself is just off the coast of georgia. so that is going to track and that is going to be bringing the rain in here again. as we head into 5:00, so your commute home could be a bit on the wet side for today but it is going to be especially wet as we work our way into tomorrow morning. and then that will continue as well. but it is going to get very windy, we are talking about wind gusts up to 25, 30 mierches-- miles an hour. 66 degrees as we work our way through the

once again, very dry air will continue tonight. 66 bel air, 63 by the bay, annapolis and on kent island. right now we have a southeast wind in the region. tomorrow it shifts back to the west as the front approach from the west. we will have some clouds. temperatures behind that front, 49 in chicago, only 38 minneapolis. there's been snow most of the day in the upper peninsula of michigan and across northern sections of minnesota. temperatures in the mid 30s. 37 winnipeg. 84 in phoenix, south of us in the 70s ahead of this front. we're going to have that front go through the area tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow night. we will start seeing some clouds on the increase late tomorrow night. maybe, just maybe a shower will come through the area with that front. along that front we expect low pressure to develop. so tomorrow night and early wednesday, that's when we have the best chance of picking up some rain. most of it to the east of us. we have some rain in the forecast for wednesday and certainly cooler temperatures. wednesday may not get out of the low 50s, particularly if we have rain arou
