and facebook is so much bigger than twitter. people will say will it ever get as big as facebook, and while i think scale matters because advertisers have to pay attention to you if you are big, i don't think twitter has to be as big as facebook to be successful. if they can prove that conversations that are important with people who matter to advertisers are happening on its platform, then advertisers will want to go there. it doesn't have to reach the entire world to achieve that. and i think it is starting to do that already. the question is how much can they be convinced that these ads are worth it, and how much are they welcome to pay to be on twitter. >> lessons learns from facebook's launch. >> well, i think there was a lot of exuberance. i think the biggest lesson was probably the way that the executives from twitter prepared for this, and launched it but i guess time will tell. >> more about twitter's big launch, and also i.p.o.s, stay with us you are watching inside story. they traumatized them. they blameatized them.

facebook has 100 billion plus market cap. so to me, i don't think it had anything really to do with twitter. if anything, twitter valuation makes facebook look more interesting on evaluation basis, that's it. here's the problem. the momentum. it just kind of came to a halt. the way the nasdaq closed up 1.4% on facebook is a big part of the nasdaq for all intents and purposes, this stock closed unchanged on the day. basically unchanged and sitting on really key support. >> the issue is a change in the psychology of the markets, take a look -- a lot of momentum names, and they have declined from their october highs. people are taking province, this is profit taking. >> there's a lot of profit taking. all of a sudden you hear people talking about valuation. valuation doesn't justify the prices of these stocks. i mean, you have facebook, and a name that will do less than $8 billion in revenue with market capitalization over $110 billion. it's very hard to figure out how you get to those kinds of numbers, as long as you ride the t

they're behind facebook. >> right.t it is relevant but certainly not the entire story. so, on the one hand, we do believe that the type of activity we see happening on the social networks is representative to how customers will respond to ads as well. so for example, when we run a social referral campaign on facebook, and when we see it works well, we know that promoting it through like facebook sponsored stories will have a good return whereas a bad one will have bad returns. in other words actual organic social sharing does predict how apps will perform. that means most likely ad that is result in commerce on facebook will perform better than ads resulting in commerce on twitter. however the story why facebook and twitter exist are slightly different. so i follow my influencers on twitter and follow what they say and i don't do the same thing on facebook. if twitter's model is around that i think it can be quite compelling. >> ii it is possible, let me play a devil's advocate. twitter is a dark horse and unflew owner
