when the 12-year-old beagle died, owner sharon discorfano found a way to help her deal with the pain of the loss. every day, she'd write pushkin a letter. expressing how she felt helped so much, she actually wrote a book, "letters to pushkin." hello, sharon. >> hi. >> tell us a little bit about pushkin. >> pushkin was an adorable, little beagle that i welcomed into my home, and he was playful and feisty and really just added to our family so much. >> why did you decide to write letters to him after he died? >> well, when he passed away, i was really missing him, and i decided that writing letters would be a great way to spend a little time with him each day. and writing a letter would be a little bit different than writing in a journal or diary because writing a letter was a great way to talk to him specifically and kind of keep things upbeat rather than just writing on and on and on about my feelings. so i got to share some of my day with him and also just kind of talk to him about all those little things that i was missing about him or little memories i had and funny stories. >> so
