we appreciate our focus and we certainly hope the st. city can take over ownership of all the street lights for the repairs >> thank you. >> good afternoon. i'm executive director of liveable city. thank you for having this hearing. when we were working on the better street plan it was missing a piece it says someday we'll add those but it's an embarrassing failure the puc that coincident get it together it's great to hear about the street light policy. the sidewalks need to be lit. until you have standards you're not going to be be able to do the industries. but if the standards don't exist i encourage you to keep puc's feet to the fire so we can have is city sidewalk standards. the other thing you might want to look at the governs of the program. there was an audit when mr. kelly was director and both of those looked at the street light lighting responsibility to the department of public works. it could help because public works has most of the elements and the thing that hangs up is to get a lighting component done it's a different agency.

i've effectively built partnerships with city's and st. mary's hospital. as part of the i pc we partner with immigrant organizations including san francisco organizing projects and san francisco based coalitions which i am a member. on the national level we work with the richest reform those collaborations have included the grassroots on capital hill for comprehensive reform. and i think this year i've managed to have 6 trips to d.c. to advocate on behalf of our immigrant community an capitol hill and have support from the members of the board and as we continue to struggle to effect change to monthly a broken immigration system we have an amazing ability to be the voice for a voiceless undocumented community. we live in the shadows and to bring their issues and concerned and needs to the mayor and board of supervisors. along with recommended to improve the programs and city policies. as vice chair of the commission i've proud of the work we've should very well together as a group and all my colleagues bring something interesting and varied to the table. s

we have seen massive federal and state cuts, for us to hold the line locally and stand up in the city of st. francis for our seniors and our nutrition programs and families. i think we have a lot of challenges right now. we are still in the midst of the great recession. we all know way too many folks who are struggling in a minimum wage jobs pirouette of folks who have been laid off at work. i think as a city, we need to do much better at creating an environment where we have more jobs and more economic development. i know that all of us are committed to ensuring that we have a budget that not only provides basic city services that we have come to expect but make sure that we take care of our most vulnerable. whether it be our at-risk use, our seniors, are disabled, our working families, folks who are out of work. i know something that every public servant who is here is committed to. adding with all come together as a board, as a city. we should come together as san franciscans, and, colleagues, at this time, i hope, and i asked that we unanimously vote for ed lee to be our next mayor. thi
