one in the bathroom, one at lunch and neither of them notified a supervisor.the area south afrita by tsa agents and they do not carry weapons. when he allegedly opened fire, the tsa agents ran without hitting the panic button and without calling for help. it was an airport contractor who called police and that slowed down the entire response allowing ciancia to allegedly kill an agent and then go and shoot two more agents and a passenger. now, the airport police union and the police chief are defending the officers who went on break calling their conduct very common. the chief says, quoting here, those officers responsible for that terminal were there as quick as anybody else was to deal with those particular issues. they were not goofing off. but the former chief of l.a.x. security says, the officers not being there made it a, quote, soft target and they should have at least notified somebody before they left. by the way, the tsa is doing its own independent investigation trying to get to the bottom of what exactly happened out there in november. grech snn. >
