here's lawrence. >> all right, liza.have some nice weather ahead as we head in toward the weekends. i think these temperatures running well above the average again. these temperatures could move higher. they are going to start to clear out a little bit as we head in toward the afternoon. and the temperatures are going to be warming up nicely. how about this? as we head in toward the afternoon, the fire danger still running high. that red flag warning now posted across all bay area mountain peaks and looks like over the weekend we'll see more sunshine and dry conditions. sunny and mild for the weekend. and these temperatures back up in the 60s and searches. low pressure retrograding means it's backing out toward the coastline not following your typical circulation. it's moving back under this ridge of high pressure. dragging with it a few clouds in our skies. at the same time, we have some big time storms off the coastline that have generated some large swells out toward the beaches. 70s into the central valley today and

liza? >> it's been busy.f the accidents we have been seeing have been concentrated in the east bay. mostly in oakland. so we are going to start off with this problem in oakland. southbound 880 just beyond the 980. two lanes blocked. all lanes were blocked to put a big rig tow truck in place. now it's down to 36 miles per hour in the area. there is an accident in the backup. along highway 24 there was a car traveling eastbound somehow spun out flipped over the center divider and ended up in westbound traffic. so you're going to see this accident westbound 24 beyond 13. it's in the center divider at this hour. it's also a long morning for the altamont pass. you can see all of the yellow there. traffic speeds are down westbound 580. 580/680 interchange room to head through the pleasanton area but gummed up through livermore leaving the altamont pass. half moon bay, we had been watching this accident involving that car off the ravine. the rescue is now complete. they were able to take out the injured party. highw

liza, very interesting how the weather is shaping up today.e have had some patchy, dense fog moving in along the coastline. up above we have some offshore winds developing. that means the fire danger is going to be running high especially over the north bay mountaintops. red flag warnings are in effect there for high fire danger through friday now. could see some of those gusts 20 and 30 miles per hour. plenty of sunshine this afternoon although temperatures going to be slightly cooler and still a couple of patches of coastal fog then sunny and mild weather over the weekend. i think maybe back to some record-breaking temperatures next week. high pressure in control but backing off a little bit. this area of low pressure going to start to retrograde move toward the coastline. that will bring a few more clouds in our direction for friday. and those waves are building along the coastline. high surf advisory in effect westly swell 11 to 13 feet some of these guys building to 20 feet and some monster waves from mavericks up to 40 feet. temperatures
