coming up from upper montgomery county, a significance difference from clarksburg, even down toward montgomery village there was a big difference in that part of the drive on 270 about two hours ago. so we have the rain and freezing rain this morning. by noon most of this is gone. we'll start to see some sun moving in from the west. high today 50, 51, maybe 52. yes, it is going to get that mild with low 40s again by 8:00 p.m. if you can delay something as opposed to canling, there won't be any weather problems for the afternoon. heavy snow up in pennsylvania. we've got sleet and freezing rain and then plain old rain. quite a break now to our south. southern maryland quiet at the moment. down 95 quiet. but there's more moisture coming in out of west virginia. everywhere that's pink, that is freezing rain. the purple colors are more of a sleet mix here. you see some of the light freezing rain returning to montgomery county and fairfax counties. as far as totals they range from a light glaze in the immediate metro. about a tenth of anism or more. two --en inch or more. two-tenths in purcelville.

variation of ice, from just a little on the windshield to slippery sidewalks to a quarter inch in clarksburg, over to leesburg. when you get into frederick and caroll counties toward cumberland, we had some spots four, five tenths after inch. numerous power outages. branches and trees coming down. doppler 9000 is quiet. you can he what's left of the storm pulling away. looks like there could be a straggler of a shower or two out here approaching i-81. but that is it. so we're done with the precip for the day. now we're still hoping to get a little bit of clearing and a little bit of a warm-up. temperatures are in the 40s in luray to elkins. we're holding in the mid-30s here. the front is coming through. the winds are going to kick up. that will mix up the atmosphere a bit. we're optimistic for a little sun this afternoon as temperatures struggle to get not quite to 50. i was thinking maybe 50 earlier. no, we'll be in the low to mid- 40s this afternoon. back to 40 tonight. we are going to have a hard freeze again tonight. so anything that is wet will refreeze. could have some more slick spots
