i am also from midtown park apartments. my name is pa trish pa smith. i have raised my family in midtown, i have raised an extension of my family and i'm also an adoptive parent and i also have special needs children who have been bullied and also have a transgender child. i think this whole meeting sort of relates to midtown and relates to the city of san francisco. we have not been reassured up to today about our standing at midtown. on christmas eve we received a letter saying that our lease was terminated january 31. that was not a very pleasant holiday. i will read just a paragraph or more of what was said to us that day. the recently terminated lease agreement which states in paragraph 25 that in the event that the city has been paid in full, shall have the right immediately and without further notice to the lessee to enter and take full exclusive possession of the demised premises and any other space occupied by lessee by force or otherwise with or without legal process due to and expel or oust any all agents. this means once midtown park corporat

i appreciate and admire the volunteer work of the board of the midtown park corporation. they have worked tirelessly over many, many years overseeing midtown. i want to thank all board members for their dedication and time. i'm passionate and committed about making sure the midtown residents, many of them who are friends and people who are not my biological family, but i consider family, people that i care about, who live in midtown. i'm committed to making sure that each and every resident is treated fairly, that the five principles passed by this board of supervisors are followed and midtown park apartments restoration is successful. this will be a very difficult process. ultimately, my goal is to make sure no resident of midtown is displaced. we all know the horrible history of san francisco because of the mistakes of the san francisco redevelopment agency and we are making the appropriate changes necessary to deal with this situation. i'm not just here as a supervisor to bring this to your attention, but as a member of this community. i shop at the same grocery stores,

midtown park apartments is a diverse community. it's still the bastian of diversity in the mid and western addition. after the 1960s, redevelopment, a lot of people can attest what happened in the 1960s. so, now midtown apartment apartments is like the crown jewel of that and we are still -- and we are -- the reason why we want the mayor's office of housing to rescind the termination notice lease that's coming up january 31st is to negotiate -- fruitful negotiations. at the moment we are having difficulties and our supervisor breed as well as we just got finished with the collective board to get their help. so, we are asking with -- if you can to help us to rescind the termination notice and to get back to fruitful negotiations and as a sustainable group, midtown park apartments. i wanted to say thank you for the opportunity. i have information here and, again, thank you. >> thank you. and if you give any materials to our commission secretary, monica, she can -- >>> okay, thank you. >> any other members of the public wish to commen

communethy development to the take all steps necessary to protect the health and safety nof rez dnss of midtown park apartments. [inaudible] one a couple weeks back you know i made a statement and provided you information that there were challenges there. this resolution will enable [inaudible] the mayors office having to complete work on the roof and removing mildew. [inaudible] we haven't had much. many of the midtown town units experienced flooding and leaks. [inaudible] the leaks have continued and have created the mold and mildew in the unit and the city must fix this problem. as a property owner we are obligate today this this by law. more importantly we have obligation to [inaudible] living in safe conditions mpts the roof cannot be patched or repaired should be replaced immediately. the estimated cost is about 750 thousand dollars. [inaudible] to expend federal housing funds to pay these emergency repairs. the leaky roof and mold are the result of years of negligent. now we are faced with a issue and [inaudible] can go to other affordable housing needs. this 750 thousand dollars will only pr
