we're going to head to ginger zee with it all. >> it snowed on spring. that's the best way to visualize it. let's go back to that shot that was crazy out of chatham, massachusetts, that wind blowing 30 to 40 miles per hour, sustained. we'll see gusts in the 60, possibly 80 mile per hour today. even if you're not getting the snow you will get the wind. from philadelphia to atlantic city and new york city you won't see the snow but you have gusts up to 50 miles per hour. this is not just this morning. we have to go out west because the big headline out there, that mudslide, this is going to hamper a lot of the efforts. look at that heavy rain through saturday, six inches or more in parts of southwest oregon. >> that rain you were just referring to is going to make the recovery effort from that mudslide even harder. at least 24 confirmed dead. that number expected to rise as dozens are unaccounted for. >> reporter: firefighters say the force of the slide was like a mud tsunami. >> it's something very personal such as a whole group of little toys that belong
