jim ha jim handly is at the news desk with more information. jim? >> well, with one of the biggest developments coming in, malaysian developments say that the last radio message from the cockpit is spoken after someone had begun disabling the plane's tracking system, and it is a quote, good night. and the plane disappeared from the radar and diverted from the flight path, and they are increasingly convinced that the plane was taken off course by someone who knew how to turn off the tracking system. they spent hours this weekend, the police, searching the homes of the captain and the co-pilot, and now 26 countries are search searchi searching. the flight data recorders could send out a ping for 30 days, but after the batteries die, the plane is going to be harder to find. at the live desk, i'm jim handly. >> and virginia police say that the bus overturned on i-95 in stafford county, virginia. the bus driver is charged with wreckless driving, and police say he was going too fast for the snowy conditions. the tour bus had 58 passengers from new york to

at the live desk, jim handly. back to you. >>> to our weather now. and another potentially icy commute for some of us tomorrow morning. there is a winter weather advisory in effect. doug, who will get the worst of it this time? >> even the worst of this is not going to be all that bad. we do have a winter weather advisory. for freezing rain or drizzle it doesn't take a whole lot to prompt an advisory. take a look. it is back toward the west including loudoun county, fredericksburg, everybody toward winchester. temperature have been on the warmer side and we're not seeing much in the way of rain. this will mostly be a light drizzle. that will give you a light coating of ice. that's all it takes to make for some slick spots. we first have to go below freezing and we're not near that right now. we're at 41 in d.c. 38 in martinsburg. 36 in winchester. temperatures are going to be, going to have a tough time getting below 32 tonight. that could be some good news. i've got an update on this. plus the next storm. it is in the seven day. i've got it for you

death tolls increasing with the difficult search after that mud slide in washington state, and jim handly has details from the live desk. jim? >> doreen, 24 people are confirmed dead in the mudslide that has devastated an entire community, and today, crews found more victims on the east side of the collapse. 30 people are still missing after officials revised the total number of missing down from 90 this weekend. for the families the wait is agonizing and the grief is hitting the searchers who are faced with finding the bodies. those searchers are exhausted and some of them have hypothermia, and others are just overcome with the emotions of what they have seen in the past ten days of the search. >> and we got to this particular incident, and you could not even fathom what had happened. >> people can be gone so fast, and just tell the people that you love that you love them. hold them close. >> the searchers say that there is no time line and the search could take months. in some cases the mud is 70 feet deep that they are searching through. and coming up tonight on the nightly news with b

. >> and i'm jim handly. and news4 broke this story on air, online and on social immediate kra this morning. an arrest in the possible murders that have shaken the alexandria community. the focus is in wheeling, west virginia, where a man is in custody, and the authorities are trying to figure out if he had anything to do with the prominent deaths of three people in alexandria. the man's name is charles severance and he is 53 years old, and this is video of him in a court appearance. he was arrested yesterday on a warrant out of loudoun county yesterday on a weapons charge. he asked an attorney, and he said he did not want to be extradited back to virginia. he is being held on a $100,000 bo bond. >> authorities will ask him about the murders of nancy dunning and ron kirby and ruthanne lodato. all three were active in the community and all three killed in their homes. last week, police said that the strong evidence of the deaths l linked and a possible serial kille killer. >> and we looked at the mug shot that
