one is from the new zealand navy and the other from the australian navy.area where they said this is where they believe the plane may have gone down. it was trumped down to about 117,000 square miles. this debris that showed up on the satellite is south of that target zone. it figures into the larger target zone the national transportation safety board first came up with 48 hours ago which was 370,000 square miles. let's talk about really what the goal here is. if they can confirm that this is part of 370, the missing flight, the goal ultimately is to answer the question of what happened. it's likely they can do some of that calculation. it was the national transportation safety board's calculations that took into account the wind and the current to suggest this was an area to look at to begin with. if they can get back to the area where they believe the plane went down, the real goal is to get the data recorders. the flight data recorders are what will answer many questions. another one records the data. the cockpit voice recorder, i've spoken to a friend

navy. we have received satellite imagery of objects possibly related to the search for the missing aircraft, flight mh 370. the rcc australia received an expert assessment for that salt light imagery this morning, 20th of march. the images were captured by satellite. they may not be related to the aircraft. the assessment of these images was provided by the australian geo spatial administration or ago, as a possible debris that has been part of the southern search operation since the 15th of march. further images are expected after commercial satellites were redirected to take high-resolution images of the areas of interest. these will be provided in due course. four aircraft have been reoriented to locate the objects. approximately 2,500 kilometers southwest of perth as a result of this information. a royal australian air force orion aircraft arrived in the area about 1:50 this afternoon. or further, three aircraft have been tasked by rcc australia to the area later today, including a roya

russia giving the ukrainian navy an ultimatum. calling on troops to lay down their arms. nick schifrin join us live by phone from the capitol of crimea. what are you seeing on the ground? >> well, del, what we are seeing is not so much ultimatum to all forces. we believe this is just for the ukrainian navy located, and ultimatum said they need to surrender right off the coast and surrender all of their weapons. certainly in the next 12 or so hours the foreign ministry just releasing a statement saying we're not enterin interinterfere yawn-russian affairs. they're stepping up their invasion of crimea by forcing the navy to give up all of its weapons, that is not something that it has forced the ukrainian army in crimea to do yet. >> has there been any response concerning this ultimatum to the navy? >> no, this is just coming in the last half hour. what they've been responding over the last few days the same way. they are aggressive rhetoric. they will use the army, use their military forces and power to respond to the russian aggression, but frankly they have not done that
