we know that a tow truck just pulled up. now, this all started last night in concord, around 10:30 when a police sergeant was patrolling monument boulevard near highway 680. he noticed a person driving recklessly. he tried to pull the driver over. that person sped off. reached speeds of 100 miles an hour. the suspect is 19-year-old michael holden of concord. they say he lost control on 680 southbound in danville. holden suffered major injuries, a gash to the head and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. police say that holden stole a rabbit volkswagen from someone's home in walnut creek. because holden's injuries were so severe, the multidisciplinary action investigation team is out here. the district attorney's office is part of this investigation. we'll let you know if we receive an update about the suspect's condition. but the reason there are so many investigators here is that if holden does not survive, then county and law enforcement will be prepared to handle any potential lawsuit. back out here live
