justin brock is a research analyst at the royal united services institute and he joins me here in london. justin, what do you make of this intercepted audio, the kiev government released there? >> well, i mean, whether or not it's accurate it's almost certainly representative of what would have happened immediately after this. it doesn't suit the separatists remotely to cause an instant like this. all shooting down an airliner would do and has done is put the spotlight on the military equipment they have been receiving from russia with the corresponding possibility that russia has to back off from that point i'm positive they did not intend to shoot down an airliner. this could be the panic afterwards when they realize what a mistake it is going to be. >> absolutely. what kind of weaponry to take down a commercial airliner at 33,000 feet, 10 kilometers in the air? >> certainly it's an ad vans over the manned portable system we seen flooding ukraine in recent months. it's most likely an sa-11 book. i think the term is a gadfly. it's been around since the late ''80s, but it's a large syste
