scott mcgrew. breaking news in south bay. middle school on fire. crews just managed to put out the flames at caroline davis intermediate school. school's in south san jose, "today in the bay's" bob redell just got to the scene, bob, what's the latest? >> reporter: good morning, scott, it was a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the middle area of davis middle school here in south san jose. this is around 5:30 this morning. the san jose fire department arrived and they realized they were going to need back up. they called far second alarm. they have the ladder truck extended over where it used to be shooting water down on top of the structure. turns out that structure was of the multipurpose room. that's where the fire started, and they said they were fortunately able to keep it not only contained to the multipurpose rooms and just that building, but also contained to the attic. there was no actual damage inside the room itself as far as there being a fire. now whether it was smoke or water damage, that's to be determined. they don't believe there's anything suspicious about this fire, don't know the cause
