jackie benson reports they think it is connected to a big debate over tracking concussions. louden valley vikings took to the field for the first game without their coach danny mcgrath who was fired days earlier. on the first day of summer practice, the parents booster club who purchased helmet sensors hooked them to the helmets to aid in concussion assessment. school officials cited krps including insufficient testing data and the fact that the devices voided the helmet warrantees said they weren't permitted. mcgrath didn't speak out on the sensors but ordered the team to take their helmets off, stopping the practice. >> want a free t-shirt? >> a number of parents and others wore t-shirts supporting the coach. >> we believe this is about the safety issues. coach mcgrath has been outspoken on safety issues here. >> reporter: school officials point out mcgrath does remain a teacher at louden valley. >> we made a choice. the only reason we can say is the changes made for what the administration thought was the best for the students. by law, the code of virginia. we cannot say
