eastern here on msnbc. you just got back from texas. some of the sound you came back with is startling. what struck you? >> i was down in dallas and ft. worth on monday. we saw two things, ed. number one, a mobilization going on. you reported on it. they are commemorating it. they are calling out voter id from the head of the church saying this is racist targeting and we need to stand-up to it. that, you can say, is positive. it's a backlash. we saw voters who had the right documentation, went to the local id issuing agency in texas and were told, oh, we don't have ids. you have to come back later. let's be clear. if you don't have the ids, some drive, great. some don't. we have people who are seniors, who have a medical condition. for them, having to go two, three times to get an id to vote in 2014, when as you know, we reported we have been doing elections hundreds of times. >> this struck a new kind of passion with voters in texas, you think? >> i think so. i think this is also where eric holder's justice department did win to find it was a poll tax. senator boxer breaking news on "the ed show." she'
