matt pellman is there now. >> it is one of those days i was thankful to be at work and not out trying to drive around. it's a mess on this thursday. this afternoon is not nearly as bad as this morning but we have a few issues, like on the blue route 476, approaching ridge pike to the mid county tolls, emergency construction on the northeast extension, northbound near landed dale. it's still backed up from the northbound side of 476, up towards landsdale this afternoon. and a crash on the westbound side of 422 approaching 724, but at this point speeds in the 40s and are you getting by and it's not terrible. on the big picture, things look a whole lot better than this did this morning on the schuylkill. speeds in the 20s into the city and in the teens heading up to the work zone at cotman avenue, stick with the numbers streets and expect delays and congestion because of that protest. here in burlington county, protests on 95 northbound and we seem to be getting by without huge delays. lets grab the ipad and do the commuter report, newcastle county look for it along chestnut hill road. l

. >> on a friday, let's go live to matt pellman in the traffic center. how we looking, matt? >> you know the best anything you could say about the stock market is that the week was over, i may say that nor the roads. it is almost over. making the way home on this friday, happy friday but it will take you some time this afternoon. wet conditions in spots and a whole lot of volume on the schuylkill expressway westbound side. we also had a crash right here by city avenue that just cleared from the shoulder. the westbound remains extra heavy from montgomery drive through this point on out towards conshohocken. eastbound also heavy but not as bad as the westbound travel time. 95 also the typical slow self with speeds just in the teens on the northbound side by the betsy ross bridge. and a crash by girard college along ridge avenue at college avenue. and big problems this average on 422. a vehicle fire blocking the eastbound lanes between sanitoga and limerick. and a gaper delay on the westbound side. and a crash on pottsville road. sunny side avenue. and a wreck on the new jersey

matt pellman is here filling in for karen.on the fatal crash on the schuylkill expressway. >> reporter: it appears we have to eastbound traffic getting by on 76. this is the does he want scene montgomery drive. investigators are out here, they are trying to clean up at this point. all eastbound lanes are blocked once again. as you might imagine the backlog is substantial. as we go to the next camera shot, eastbound traffic is barely moving, a lot of people are trying to bail out at green lane. it's giving us delays on all the adjoining roads. you want to think alternates like the river driver which are going to be slick or lancaster avenue or giving detours on the septa bus routes in the area. i-95 is heavy southbound from woodhaven to cottman. earlier hole in the road was patched, but it got us off to a bad start this morning. >> indeet it has. le -- indeed it has. let's look at a live picture of the clouds near the skyscrapers in center city. >> reporter: we're seeing the sun trying to break out of the clouds. 62 in sea isle

matt pellman in the traffic center with an update. of getting old, the delays on 95 are getting old and don't have a lot of redeeming factors. certainly not beautiful. live in delaware county down right ruff on this friday afternoon and harvey road in delaware to highland avenue up to the blue route 476. the good news, the crash in the northbound lanes approaching the blue route now gone. the lanes reopen. the travel time 33 minutes. and that is 95 in delco. traveling a little bit and doing ok, then not. hitting the brakes from penns landing through girard up to cottman. a little bit of good influences, the disabled vehicle causing the extra heavy jam is gone. the travel time almost an hour is four times what it ideally should be in the northbound lanes of 95. southbound approving broad street the crash luckily off to the side. the road collapse in upper merion, and hearing through at least monday. and brandywine, chester county, a crash. and the frankfort lanes problems. checking that again in the half-hour. >> thank you very much. >

matt pellman is in the traffic center with an honest update. >> i can't imagine what she would say about this mess on the blue route. northbound side an awful crash, approaching route 30, the villanova saint davids interchange in the process of towing away a vehicle. and they have two left lanes blocked and just the right lane squeezing by it's a parking lot on the northbound side of the blue route from the route 1 media bypass, a good afternoon to think alternates to northbound 476 like 52 or 320 or bail at route 1 and take it up to route 30 lancaster avenue. if you are trying to get to the blue route from 95 we had the crash by 476 and that is off to the side now and speeds in the 20s from 420. and elsewhere near bridge street there is a crash and the night market in chinatown tonight and portions of ray and 10th streets are shut down and giving us gridlock. and jammed traffic on 422 because of an overturned truck accident eastbound near royersford. and approaching landsdale, that accident is gone but the disabled vehicle is still on the shoulder. >> all right thank you matt. >>> like
