made my way out to san francisco when i was a college student, and i sat in the class is in san francisco state as well, and i remember growing up at that time around clement street. we call the richmond district the new chinatown in the 1980's at that time. just being around the tremendous unique neighborhood, and discovering san francisco in the 1980's as i grew up, but i also have been very active as a community organizer. i worked in chinatown, and some first jobs also at the mental health center in the richmond area multi services in the 1980's, and i was also a staff are at the chinatown youth center -- i was also a staffer. a lot of my work has been supporting community empowerment, especially in an immigrant and people of color communities. most recently, i have been teaching at san francisco state. i ran the immigrant rights coalition in the city in the 1990's for several years. i'm also an immigration attorney, and a lot of my passion is supporting in power met for immigrant communities in the city as well. >> why did you choose to live in san francisco? supervisor mar: a lot of peopl

and she worked downtown, at wiki company, and she has a degree from san francisco state, and in zoology, and we shared being big fans of san francisco giants and the san francisco 49ers and she was actually, a very avid fan of both. mary was found dead in her home on august 26th and the cause of death is blunt force trauma. and according to her neighbors, her boyfriend of 12 years, who she lived with, she would hear her boyfriend slamming her against the walls during arguments. mary did not confide in this and although i loved her i never knew that this was happening a group of us attend every court hearing, for joules, and he has been accused of homicide, one of our friends has said that following this process and the judicial process is the most painful thing that she will ever do in her life. i am a human rights lawyer, and usually this kind of thing is a professional thing for me and not a personal thing, and i have been living in porter prince and i work for an organization that represents the victims of violence and we help to prosecute cases just like this case. and unfortunately

i teach at the right institute in berkeley and san francisco state university as adjunct. my goal to switch jobs is i want to work with the students so that i cannot only everyday in my class multi- culturalism and social justice and advocacy is the key that's what i bring today because they are going to be our future counselors. i'm going to keep it short and sweet. i know my time is almost up. i advocate and i'm also very passionate as you can tell, but i have also worked with the national association and i have advocated to reduce stigma. stigma is huge and shame. and i have worked with a lot of organizations to provide information. i was also one of the board members to work with south asian americans and to reduce stigma and work that south american asians have real issues. i want to support our undocumented students and families. i have done a lot of research in working with the latino communities and i want to bring that to the board, i also noticed on the board there is diverse but not someone who brings this array. i do want to advocate for our homeless youth in t
