there are dozens of new lows in the energy sector. here is a few including chevron down about 3%. that is a big move to the down side. we are sensitive to the markets but today there is actual news out. opec reducing growth guidance. iran talking about oil. and weekly inventory levels higher than expected. there is actually news around oil here and a reason we are moving lower. the tape is very sensitive to oil. i want to point out the stock market has done darn well. oil dropping 40% this year. there is the s&p 500. we are just off historic highs. dropping oil overall has not been any disaster for the stock market despite the decline in energy stocks. airlines great movers today. jet blue good metrics for november. american did, we had good news overall. the airlines are going to make more money in 2014 than they thought and more money in 2015, profit levels are way up. you were just talking about high yield etfs. i want to point out new lows. there is where you buy in. much of that, of course, is shale plays about 15 or 16%. those etfs are seeing very heavy volume today. >> thank

news around. metals bottomed several weeks ago. these stocks have had a horrible year. u.s. steel has bottomed. just had a terrible year. it has been coming off of lows recently. these are the trends you want to watch on a day where it doesn't appear to be news behind these things. the other thing i think you should be watching is bank names. you can own this group called the kre regional bank index. this has been rallying quietly for days now. we are at the highest levels since march on this. it is a basket of regional banks. what has been rallying are small cap regional banks and a couple of large banks here. a couple of names like key corp and bb&t. i want to note that people are moving money around here at the end of the year. some of these etfs and bond funds the vanguard total bond fund, one of the biggest and the bond universe has been very heavy indicating a number of people are re-allocating assets here. >> the tensions in russia pushed the yield below the 2.2% mark. nasdaq is down a bit today losing gains for december. believe it or not it is only about 5% away from the all-time high. a couple that are dragging it down, as well. >> it is a

a new report from the death penalty information station found a new low in death againsts and executions. just 35 people were put to death this year. meanwhile, 72 people were sentenced to death, the lowest number in the modern era of the death penalty dating back to 1974. also in play, the mental health and mental capacity of inmates. according to the report, mellow disabilities loomed as an emerging issue in 2014 the supreme court has ruled it uninstitutional to execute the mentally disabled, although it has not provided a clear definition of what disability is or pointed to one factor such as a specific i.q. level. two recent executions highlight the issue. paul good win convicted in missouri, and robert wayne holsey in georgia, were convicted in december, both men, their lawyers say, were mentally impaired. good win convicted of killing a woman in 1998 had and a i.q. of 73 and claimed insanity at his trial. good win's sister fought to change his sentence to life behind bars said that execution was not a just punishment for his crime, an act that occurred out of passion not premeditat
