while this was going on, while the attention was on the small city on the turkish border, isis went ong a new kurdish city. they still hold mosul. that's their de facto capital. as the institute for the study of war reported they are gaining more and more ground in syria while the attention is elsewhere. really, what the president said is frankly pretty misleading. >> what is astounding is that 75% we are told of the air strikes that have been carried out by the coalition were just at kobani let alone the rest of the area. finally, christian, they have a group of hostages now we believe including an american woman and as far as we know, they haven't taken any more western hostages recently. what is the threat, what could they do and what could come next? >> it's very, you know, very sad. i think the prospects of any hostage are not very good. it's very difficult to rescue these people. isis has gotten very good at sort of moving them around, not disclosing their location. i think it's mainly a chance for the free world to step back and look at all of these threats across the middle eas

city. however, because we are bordering ocean beach and golden gate park, we do have pockets of problem areasd, so, our neighbors are the first to alert us and the police station when there are issues and the police has been very responsive to that. >> what kind of issues are you having with ocean beach or golden gate park? >> i think that because it's so far from the center of the city and because there is so much open space, we do see a lot of encampments in those areas. some neighbors express issues with safety and feeling safe in their neighborhood and, so, they have worked very closely with our terraville station to make sure they monitor those regularly. >> what are your thoughts on the city's economic development? >> so, in terms of economic development, i think our city is in a very, again, exciting time right now where we are able to attract a lot of businesses who want to locate here in san francisco. you know, we have seen a recent wave of technology companies that have located here in our downtown core area and it's really transformed our neighborhoods. and i think that as we cont
