i'm frank mallicoat. it's 6:00. a busy intersection in menlo park is still shut down after a train crash killed a woman. kiet do is at the railroad crossing where yesterday's accident happened. he joins you with more. kiet. >> reporter: caltrains has been working through the night to clear the intersection. we have been seeing trains go through all morning long. cars not allowed through yet. they are also installing a new red and white striped crossing arm. they just put the arm on now. these are the arms that they are designed to try to keep cars from getting through these tracks in the first place. it was a horrific scene yesterday evening. the impact threw the car 40 feet from where it was impacted and came to rest against a crossing box and pole. the damage was so bad, it was difficult to tell exactly what kind of car it was. firefighters pulled that 30- year-old woman out of the wreckage took her to the hospital in critical condition. that's where she died. it's unclear why or how she ended up on the tracks. >>

i'm frank mallicoat. breaking traffic news in the east bay. all lanes were just reopened after a crash with a big rig southbound 880 in hayward. the crash happened a little after 4:30 this morning near the tennyson exit. tow trucks were delayed getting to the scene to move those damaged vehicles. no word yet on what may have caused that crash. >>> and let's get more from elizabeth. >> okay, thanks. even though all lanes were just reopened about 3 minutes ago, the delays continue. and they will likely continue for a while. so usually that corridor heading to the san mateo bridge backs up. this is obviously much worse than normal. southbound 880 at tennyson it's jammed solid so all speed sensors below 25 miles per hour backing up almost to san lorenzo beyond 238. now we have a new crash a five- car fend financed right before the dublin interchange -- five- car fender-bender right before the dublin interchange two lanes blocked before 680. that will back up traffic through the livermore valley if they don't clear it soon. it's already up to 21 mi
