northeast. these are actual air temperatures. we are shattering records across the ohio valley, the great lakes and the northeast. so new york city was 6 and that's without the windchill ins the poke nos pie ss minus 15. you get the picture. where is the cold air coming from? canada, blame canada moving southward. the next batch of air that's ready to set until but for much of the country well below average except for our friends in california where they're dealing with nice warm temperatures. we are dealing with the potential of more stormy weather across the south. taking a look at where we saw a mixture of freezing rain sleet and snow, north of atlanta, georgia moving into the carolinas, and this system is going to clip parts of new england, maybe bring boston a couple more inches of snow. they are almost at the snowiest season on record. they just have about seven inches to go. we'll watch it like deja vu across the south. more moisture moving in with the colder air. so the potential for more wintry wearings across the south where they're not typically used to this,

the 15-inch snowfall warnings in effect from iowa all the way across northern areas of ohio valley to the northeast. that includes new york city and it includes boston. it really doesn't move in until overnight in the northeast. st. louis, you got lucky, you've been fluctuating about 31 32 degrees. chicago you had some idea area moving in now it's filling in where more snow easily, i think you could start to see upwards of a foot. rainfall south of indianapolis, it's all rain in louisville cincinnati, columbus, a little snow you'll be changing over to rainfall. that alleviates all of our problems. pittsburgh snowfall getting ready to change to rain once this is all said and done there's a back area of snow that could drop an additional one to two. new york city you get snow overnight and it could come down for a little bit. but rush hour it changes to a mix from sleet to freezing rain anda could stay that way throughout the morning rush to around noon before we think it will change to rain. in boston look for snowfall i don't think you're going to get above freezing on the cape, cape cod, nantucket
