live in the digital operations center vai sikahema, nbc 10. >>> 5:36 now. to the atlantic casino crisis more trouble for revel this morning as owners are planning to scrap the $95 million deal to afford a developer that would have bought it this morning. revel's lawyer will ask the judge to cancel the deal with the developer because the sale did not close at midnight. that's because the judge ruled yesterday that the sale can't proceed without considering first the rights of former businesses at revel and its energy supplier. those entities are appealing the sale. but the potential buyer is looking to extend the sale deadline until the end of the month. >>> 5:36 right now. septa and one of the unions goes before a federal official today as union officials believe certain rules are putting workers and riders at risk. here's the issue, all of septa's train engineers work more than 40 hours a week and most work six days a week. they can do that as septa requested and got a waiver from the government on certain safety rules. well engineers say the waiver result

i'm vai sikahema. several vehicles were involved in a crash on route 13 and bear road in bear delaware. matt delucia is live on the scene. how long has the road been shut down and how much longer will it be like this? >> reporter: well, vai, the crash happened about 7:15 this morning, right here at the intersection of dupont highway and bear road. i'll get out of the way. most of this has cleared up now. they're bringing in a sweeper to clean up the mess that has been out here and all the fuel that spilled out on to the roadways. we're expecting this road to reopen shortly. but state police tell us one person died as a result of this collision that involved four vehicles and it was quite a mess out here. had a ripple effect on traffic in this area. skyforce10 has a better angle of what happened at this intersection. one of the cars you can see was completely destroyed in the crash. state police brought out an accident reconstruction team to put all this together. that took up quite a bit of time in del

i'm vai sikahema. we're tracking falling temperatures and another possibility of snow this weekend. nbc 10 first alert chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here now with our forecast. glenn? >> yeah, vai. it didn't feel all that cold a couple of hours ago, but that wind has really picked up and the colder air continues to feed in hour by hour. 31 degrees in philadelphia now. only 26 in pottstown. and in reading, 16 degrees in mount pocono. it is still above freezing farther to the south. but, the wind making you feel like it is in the teens across much of the area. 12 in pottstown. 11 in allentown. and these numbers are going to just be going down as we go through the day today. the area of the snow showers has pretty much moved out. and we're left with dry conditions for the rest of the day. as you can see, one or two little blips and that's about it. for the rest of the day, you don't have to worry about any snow. but the wind and the cold they're going to stay and the temperatures drop through the 20s and by 6:00 tonight, at 22 that will feel like it is in the single

i'm vai sikahema. temperatures are about to plunge into record territory, reaching lows that in some cases haven't been seen in decades. nbc 10 first alert chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with the forecast. you issued a first alert weather day for tonight and tomorrow? >> yes, for tonight and tomorrow and it is for the extreme cold and it is a combination of the temperature and the wind causing that first alert weather day. we have seen temperatures as cold as we are seeing right now, but it is going to get colder tonight and the wind continues. so that creates dangerous conditions. feels like temperature 10 to 20 below zero even in and around philadelphia. areas to the north will be closer to 20 to 25 below zero. and you can get frostbite in 30 minutes of exposure. any part of your body that is exposed to the wind this is later tonight, there is that flag and it is blowing hard right now. it is only 19 degrees. 16 in allentown. 18 in mount holly. and feels even colder than that

i'm vai sikahema. this was the breaking news that you saw here first yesterday on nbc 10 news at 11:00 a.m. and this morning the gas company is going door to door to restore gas service. the blast on oak avenue in stafford township followed reports of a natural gas leak. it left 15 people hurt two seriously. nbc 10's ted greenberg is live for us this morning. what have you seen there since you arrived in the neighborhood? >> reporter: well, vai, this is the closest we have been able to get so far to the scene of that explosion. you can really understand why some folks who live in the area say it looked like a war zone right after that house was blown to bits literally. you see there is still debris scattered throughout the area. stafford township's mayor tells me gas company workers are more than halfway through the process of restoring gas service to about 300 homes in this community. it is a slow process because they have to do it by going house by house. this morning, gas company employees continue
