brian williams very well. he said brian always wanted to be walter cronkite. also turns out he warranted to be jay leno or at least jay leno's replacement. stories in the paper are when nbc was looking for replacement for leno brian williams said i will take the job. i think brian's problem is that he didn't know which he wanted more, to be a first tier journalist, or a first tier entertainer? and they play by very different rules. if you're an entertainer you're only obligation is to entertain. that's it. there are no other rules. you can embellish, you can exaggerate, you can make up stories when you go on letterman. there is no problem there. the only really the only rule really is, that you better be entertaining. journalist system different. you must tell the truth -- journalism. brian williams didn't. i think he was playing by entertainment rules and it is very hard to be both an entertainer and a journalist at the same time. melissa: it is. if you look at our industry there is blurring of the lines. i say too many people get their news from jon stewart.
