my name is shirlee and also a youth leader from ccdc. as many of our youth leaders have said we think that school bus routes are important, especially to those low income and transit dependent students who take the bus to school everyday and may be limited to the opportunity to go to the school of their choice. for many immigrant low income families many of the parents might not have the time to take their kids to school because they have to work for long hours so they might not have the time to drive them to school in the morning. if these students attend school that far away from their neighborhoods it would require them long commute hours and probably multiple bus transfers to get to school especially in the southeast neighborhood such as the bay view district or the visitacion valley and there are less schools for them to choose. also as one of the youth leaders have previously stated managing to get to school on time early is also an important and difficult task to do because of some of the inaccuracy of the bus arrival times. for e

can start to rally around so i think one of the things that looks like -- one of the speakers from ccdc mentioned earlier the safe street sf program and we have the i pledge safe streets that people are continuing to take and asking people to take a pledge for safe streets and support vision zero and starting to get some buy in and that we need to start changing the way the way we're behaving on our streets so as we're running campaigns saying don't speed or as the police department is out there for jay walking or what not -- they are never going to see tickets as a positive thing but less of a revenue raising thing but more of what it's meant to be by creating a safer environment for everybody on the streets. >> i'd love to hear more of what the thoughts are but i just feel like you know, that we're focusing on this training piece is moving forward but i see that the rest of the education has not gotten too few. >> absolutely. you know and i think we've talked at past meetings before the education piece started from zero. enforcement is something ongoing but the idea of creating a city

i think for our larger affordable housing developers, the tndc, ccdc's we have relationships with them and they depend on us for money. i think we'll be able to get them. i do admit that for some of these properties they are now over seen by for profit management companies that have very little connection with the city or perhaps they did 20 years ago. those are the ones where we are going to have to figure out how to get them into the pool because they are attracting the data base. they are very hard to get a hold of. so we do realize that that is an issue. we have spoken with people with the mayor's office who said they would be willing to create legislation that would mandate participation in a way that's independent of our loan agreements. we are hoping, i don't know if we'll go that way or not. that's not always my call. that's a little bit about the pressure points. >> so regarding phase one, you are not going to love this answer. we've had a lot of hurdles that we were supposed to launch back in october and we've had trouble with the vendors system itself. that's not foreshadowi
