meteorologist kathy orr live from the weather center with a soggy forecast. >> hopefully you pack the umbrella we will need it tonight and even into the late night hours. storm scan three, look at this, like a train track of precipitation coming from lou san, gulf of mexico all the way up into philadelphia, new york and heading toward boston. the right now on storm scan three we are tracking pockets of heavier rain in the dark green and yellow going right through main line and i-95 corridor. you can see pockets of yellow along i-95 heading toward the north ape east along 130 route 30 and 476. this is the the area we are talking about. it will slow you down this evening, for sure, even along 13 and as you head on 476 and in the northeast extension. the right new visibility reduce down to a half mile in wilmington. reading a mile. lancaster zero visibility. this is what i'm really concerned with coming late tonight and tomorrow morning. temperatures are fairly mild every where, 40 in reading 51 in philadelphia, 49 in million will. coming up this evening period of rain heavy at times, ha

this fog will mean slow going for the morning commute and meteorologist kathy orr is here now with whate can expect. kathy? foggy across the delaware valley. hard to make out the casinos in atlantic city just lost in the fog. even from our cbs3 sky deck usually we see the skyline but not tonight. we do have that dense fog advisory in effect for most of the region till 6:00 o'clock tomorrow morning. and we're talking about fog that will reduce visibility to a quarter mile or less. look at the numbers. a third avenue mile in allentown reading and lancaster half mile in the poconos. half mile in trenton. down to a mile and a half in wilmington even in our suburbs right now in quakertown visibility is at zero. it will continue to be poor overnight. on storm scan3 this is part of the puzzle the rain it will be breaking up overnight. but we have that warm moist air sticking over us over that cold snow pack especially to the north and west and creating dense fog. through the overnight, visibility quarter mile or less. this continues that was the morning rush. slow down use though low beams an

meteorologist kathy orr tracking snow headed toward the area. kathy, what's next? >> well we're talking about cold, jessica. right now skies are clear winds have diminished and we're looking at snow by friday morning. right now the storm is really getting its act together drawing moisture from the gulf of mexico and heading into colder terrain. right now the temperature in philadelphia 38. 28 in millville. 23 in the poconos. 28 degrees in reading and look the wind is calm and that will allow temperatures to fall very quickly overnight into the 20s and all eyes on our developing area of low pressure encounter cold air and we will see snow coming in friday morning. that snow will be accumulating on the grassy surfaces at first. it will be slippery during the midday period some slow travel and we are expecting some areas to see a change over to rain from south to north. the question is, how far north does that rain get? the farther north the less snow. right now we're looking at accumulations. we'll talk more about how much you should expect friday coming up with the

meteorologist kathy orr is in the weather sent now. she's got her eye on the storm. kathy? >> it is moving in as we speak chris. we're talking about rain that will become heavy at times slowing you down through the day on saturday. take look at storm scan3. it is filtering through the delaware valley with reports of rain and new castle county moving into philadelphia as you look closely in the dark green and yellow areas that is where we have some of the heaviest rain moving through south jersey, new castle county, delaware, and filtering toward the south and east. overnight tonight it all will lift northward and we will all be seeing that rain come tomorrow morning. we have a freezing rain advisory in effect for the poconos for a glaze of ice with those cold temperatures. this is between 2:00 and 6am. and then we'll warm it up above freezing there. elsewhere, everyone will just be seeing precipitation precipitation in the lick wide form of rain. overnight the rainfall heavy at times right through tomorrow morning extending in to the afternoon hours. now, we do anticipate a

meteorologist kathy orr has the first forecast. that cold front moving through, jess, and we still have some pockets of precipitation and heavy downpours you can see the line of showers and some imbedded thunderstorms. a lot of thunderstorms have passed but we do have a downpour moving through over center city, northeast philadelphia and many locations where you see that bright yellow that is where we're seeing heavy rain. the orange even heavier so in ken zig ton along 95, 676 through south philadelphia through feltonville along route 1 and even scott jersey side palmyra through cherry hill you will see this at least for the next 15, 20 minutes and then it will be moving out. so now through about 3am showers, some downpours. creating some pore drainage as well. between 3:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. some spotty showers and after 9:00 o'clock this morning we'll be seeing the clouds lingering and it will be much cooler. how much cooler? right now we're on the borderline along i-95 the colder air about to move inform wilmington at 50. phila
