earlier this week, raleigh was in the 70's. 30 degrees today. a big difference but very left-hand corner of your screen through nebraska see a little green. that's the indication of some milder temperatures and the whole eastern half of the united states will really start to moderate in the temperature department as we go through the weekend and into next week. so chilly temperatures today. rather cold. high pressure overhead. so at least we have pretty tranquil weather conditions going forward. it's going to be cold tonight. maybe not quite as cold but still, we'll be dropping down into the lower double digits in the downtown area. suburbs probably back into the single digits light wind and a few high level clouds. tomorrow looks really nice. 42 degrees. still below our average at 51. i think a lot of us will take it and then sunday 50 degrees. that should be really nice and as we've been talking about, you want to spring forward on sunday so before you go to bed, make sure you advance the clock an hour so we'll be slowly continuing to add more

here's the best part of my forecast. 74 in raleigh now. 75 greenville. 76 fayetteville and that is the air mass that's moving in our direction. we get rid of the fog and the rain in the morning and the storm system moves out. look at all the clear skies coming our way and that will help boost the temperatures for the afternoon. enjoy cooler day, upper 50's but lots of sunshine on thursday. but then on friday everything changes again because another storm system potentially stronger one will move our way. that will bring rain here i think, late on friday night but the best chance for this complex to move through will be all day saturday with rain. there is going to be rain and there's no cold air. high pressure is out of the way. we need lots of cold air over canada to push in to make it snow. that's not going to happen. here's what we think will happen through the day. morning rain and fog. temperatures will climb to about 59 by midday as the sun makes an appearance and 65 sunshine in the afternoon. something to look forward to for the wednesday. take a look at the next seven days weat

this first little area of moisture moving through the raleigh durham area diminishing showers mainly south to charlotte charlotte. we go farther south and west and find a bigger system developing pushing through the eastern plains. all this low pressure will pull moisture our way and could be too much of a good thing. it will wash off the salt and sand and stuff but that combined, the rain coming in combined with the snow melt is going to create a lot of puddles in the roadway and the possibility for some localized flooding. high pressure by -- is overhead now providing a delightful day. as that swings out, that opens the door in the atmosphere for the heavier clouds and the rain. there's the warm front separating much warmer air. i don't think we'll get into the much warmer air tomorrow. we'll push in for that briefly until the next cold front comes through our area and that will bring in more seasonal temperatures. a lot of melting. concern rainfall wise, computer model suggests by the time the precipitation ends, we could have close to an inch of rain in northern suburbs and a lit
