reporting live in falls township. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> we're following yet another developing story on the roads this one involves a wrong way town car driver who smashed into a fence following a police pursuit. officers followed the man going southbound in the northbound lanes of columbus boulevard with a broken tire. he drove e drove over the platt bridge and back again he was arrested on dui. >>> a darby borough police officer was shot and killed inside his glenolden home. the girlfriend was in the home at the time. she was rushed to the hospital. officials have not said why. officer hudson got protection from abuse order against her. the 26-year-old police officer volunteered at the yeadon fire department. >> kind of a round clock thing for him. he would come up in the middle night after he worked all day in the police car for a fire call. he had a duty to serve. he always did it with a smile. >> hudson's girlfriend's name has not been released because she has not been charged with the crime

a man was hit inside this glenolden home magnolia township. they would soon learn victim was a cop. 6-year-old four year veteran on darby borough police force. >> he was shipping star even tempered nice guy and anybody that met him he always had a good word for them. >> neighbors say the borough officer lived here with his girlfriend and there were ongoing domestic problems and they saw darby township police respond in the past. sources say the woman was inside the home when off duty officer was shot and transported to penn presbyterian medical center where he later died. >> right now it's current investigation why the darby police department and darby borough and delaware county cid were in full swing with this thing. probably we'll know more in the morning. >> "action news" learned the officer was also a volunteer firefighter for the yaden fire company. and neighbors knew him as a great guy. >> whenever something like this happens it's just way too sad that somebody's life is cut short like that for basically no reason. >> inside the borough
