live in fairfax, jeff goldberg abc 7 news. leon: an illinois father is facing charges after police say he kidnapped his 3-year-old daughter and then abandoned her in the forest. authorities say the girl's father put her in a trash can and then drove away. a passer-by found her tuesday night alone on the side of a road near a suburban chicago forest preserve. police say the girl was only identified when investigators learned her mother was in the process of filing a missing persons report. the father was eventually arrested in michigan. the deadly crash that sent a car plunging into a los angeles harbor is being investigated as an accident. police say the family of four had just left the seaside entertainment area when their car careened off the road and into 30 feet of water. the boy's mother and father swam to the surface and the children were not breathing when they were rescued. the 13-year-old boy died at the hospital and his 8-year-old brother is now in critical condition. alison: today, an honor that many say was long ov

live in annandale, jeff goldberg , abc 7 news. president obama -- it willake our country, our allies, and our world safer. maureen: today's deal limits iran's nuclear capability and phases out economic sanctions. lawmakers on both sides seemed eager to get to work on this. reporter: they are, but you can imagine that will be a challenge, too. a lot of people would say the tough part is indeed over. we do not know all of the details of the agreement. what we do know, they will be hammering this out. the highlights include stopping the machines by two thirds and international inspectors will get full access to iran's facility. combined, they say that this will dramatically slow down their ability to hold a. -- build a bomb. and some of the sanctions that have really hampered iran's economy will be lifted. president obama: if iran shakes the world will know it. if there is something suspicious, we will inspect it. it iran's past efforts to weaponize this program will be addressed. it iran will face more inspections than any other cou

jeff goldberg has the side of the rescue you don't hear in those tapes. jeff: we have heard the 911 call throughout the afternoon and each time we hear it, it is amazing to hear the composure that was expressed by the individual who took the call and the young man. this is the 911 dispatch center. this one caught the attention of a lot of people. the 13-year-old young man who made the call initially this morning. it started at 7:40 a.m. this morning. it came into prince george's county, the house fire in clinton, maryland. the smoke detectors were not working. the 13-year-old made the call and his name is marcus. reassuring his younger sister, who was scared. two adults were able to get out of the home safely. firefighters were able to rescue marcus and his little sister. >> at that time, i was focused on getting in the house and not paying any attention to anything going on in the front yard. jeff: that is exactly what happened. that is lieutenant ward with prince george's county fire and rescue. it is amazing when you talk to people involved in the situ
