we have kate kelly with those details. >> thanks so much, scott. micron brought bad times to david einhorn's $12 billion hedge fund green light capital this quarter, falling more than 25% since their recent high last december, and leaving greenlight down about 1.8% for the quarter. einhorn benefited from that fourth quarter run-up, part of a huge rally that was propelled to some degree. having requested a brief period , this was the time he was buying those shares, einhorn later took an investor blog to court for reporting the fact that he was amassing that position during that anonymous period, saying word of green light's position cost it extra money. the suit was later dropped. that's just a bit of interesting history on this position. elsewhere in the portfolio, there was some encouragement. and there was definitely encouragement for rival money managers like dan lobe, whose offshore flagship rose partly on long holdings like activist and phillips 66. finally, steve cohen was up 7.5% net of expenses for the first quarter. with the s&p having be

kate. we were at the scene yesterday kind of taking everybody through the steps of where everything happened and where the car was pulled over and paces to where walter scott finally fell. 246 yards total between those two points. now that release of the dash cam video is a crucial development because it does fill in one crucial gap. there are several gaps in this story having to do with what happened before the amateur video kicked on and you saw those fatal shots. what happened before that? what provoked those shots being fired? dash cam video fills in a little bit of that. you see walter scott running from the vehicle. now, between the time that that dash cam video cuts off and the time that the cell phone video kicks on, there is a gap. what happened in those moments? this witness that we spoke to, her name is gwen nichols says she saw what happens in the moments between those two videotapes and described it as a tussle between those two men. i asked if they were fighting rolling around on the ground because that account was given by another person. she says no it was a tussle, what do you want, what did i do type of thing. gwen nichols has experience

kate kelly is here with a look at how two top hedge funds performed -- like a tongue twister. >> happens all of the time. >> in the first quarter. perfect segue. >> thank you, scott. david einhorn and dan's results are in. it's a mixed bag. the offshore fund regarded as the flagship up 3.3% for the quarter, handily beating the s&p. apparently with names like activist and phillip 66, at least on the long side. although, of course, those come directly from filings which could be dated at this point. and we don't know exactly what's in his portfolio in terms of credit and other asset classes. probably some greek bonds but not sure exactly what else these days. for einhorn, a frustrating quarter thanks largely to his big bet on micron secnology, semi condition. micron shares fell 22%, dragging down green light with them for an overall loss of 1.8% in the quarter. so as you mentioned, scott, with the s&p basically flat, you know, that is an underperformance for einhorn. for lobe, a decent beat. >> you want to weigh in on what you see? you're in this space every day. >> yes. and we're getting some of our numbers in, still really early. green light puts them out like at
