mr. murphy, thank you for letting us talk to you. we have seen your pictures on twitter, tell us what it was like inside the train. it was pretty devastating. we took a train back from washington up toward new york. we just got dropped off tom carper off in the wilmington station. we just got to the 30th street station in philadelphia, make way up to trenton station to get back to my home in bucks county. i was in the cafe cart, so i was in the middle of the train, when i heard a bang or something. some type of, obviously something happen to the train but next thing i know train popped up, it moved on one side and other side and it moved back over toward its right. fortunately for me i was on the left-hand side of the train and one of the cafe cars so, i flew down to the other, and to the other side of the train. a lot of mayhem and people banged up and a lot of bleeding. so i pulled myself up, and the guy that landed on, next to him was completely passed out, and, and the the buddy buddy, buddy and it came to and he was fine, the fa

mr. murphy. so when you sit down and look at that conflict and when you look at the issues twl, ss there, as well as the police officers them schbl themselves, because she work frszs for the police officers. >> i want to read part of her statement. it says "while we have and will continue to leverage the information received by the department, we are not relying solely on their findings but rather the facts that we have gathered." what do you make of that statement? >> well it's hard to make anything of it. it's somewhat vague quite frankly and maybe it needs to be in a little further context. but let me say this in regards to the state's attorney right there. i certainly understand the concerns that everyone has about her but when you're asking and so often we hear that people indigenous to the community she serves, she's indigenous to the community in which she serves and even though there may be some concerns about it at the end of the day we have to respect that she was electseded by the peop

mr. murphy, one quick question. the district court records say that officer goodson is an african-american. the only one charged with murder in this case. i'm wondering if you could comment on that what you think about that how it informs -- [ inaudible ]. >> the justice doesn't have a race, creed or color. that's what we're all about here today. we don't want it ever to depend on anybody's color, anybody's creed, anybody's sexual orientation, national origin or religion. anybody's income. but the sad reality of american life is that in many places under many circumstances, it still sdun. still does. so what we pray is that this will be a human drama, not a race drama. that it willish a quest for justice, and for nothing else. that's what we want. that's what this family wants. is that what this family wants? yes. that is what this family wants. next question? >> [ inaudible ] indicate exactly when mr.'s gray suffered the fatal injury at what point during that morning? >> i know just as much as you do, and no more.

mr. murphy, thank you very much for your time.ce to have you here tonight. >> it's an honor to be on your show. >> oh, thank you, sir. let me ask you about the big picture specific to mr. gray. there's multiple investigations happening. state's attorney says she will do her own independent investigation. she has received information from the baltimore p.d. they say they are done with their investigation. some leaks have started to happen to the media about what might have turned up in those investigations already. from your position as the gray family's attorney, what do you think the importance is, the status is right now of the investigation? >> well, i think the police have not finished their investigation because it would be stupid to do that. they're going to continue to pursue additional witnesses and follow additional leads. but that doesn't mean we have to and should have confidence in their ability to investigate themselves. that would be stupid. so that is why the state's attorney, marilyn moosby is conducted what she be

mr. chairman murphy: i recognize mr. collins for five minutes. >> mr. collins: thank you, mr. chairman. this is truly a fascinating topic we are discussing and it is obvious there's no easy solution. we heard it is a chronic disease, 10% are seeking treatment. i guess my question for miss hyde and samhsa is certainly with pregnant women that may have young kids at home, inpatient treatment might be the preferred, we just can't let perfect be the enemy of good. what other options are you looking at for people that aren't going to enter inpatient, they may be part of 90% not getting treatment at all. some treatment better than no treatment, as frustrating as that might be? what are your comments to the young mother that's got kids at home, she's pregnant and dependent and just can't go into an inpatient center. what do we do for that patient? >> thank you for the question. the issue of pregnant and parenting women is a big one in our field. we have a small program to address your issue, but you're right, it is a residentially based program. we are increasingly looking for ways to take wha

mr. murphy: thank you madam president. this is an exceptional thing that we're debating right now. we're talking about limiting our own constitutional power. we're talking about a trade promotion authority act that would restrict our ability to offer and debate amendments on free trade agreements. we've been told that it's the only way that we can move forward on things like the trans-pacific partnership and the soon-to-be-completed european free trade agreement. and there are great disagreements about whether that is necessary. it's hard to understand why we hold trade to a fundamentally different standard than so many other things that are vitally necessary for our economy to move forward. why not have a different process to pass immigration reform or energy reform or tax reform? those are just as, if not more necessary to economic growth and trade. but in that we are talking about limiting our ability to offer amendments to a trade agreement it would be the height of irony if we were to conduct that debate in a way that limited our ability to also offer amendments on the very ac
